You don't mention what area you live in & what type of medical conditions you have.
If you live in the South Western NY area you may be able to get help, but have your documentation ready & may have to go thru some multiple appointments.

care to pass the info along. Many of us out here are in deperate need of pain meds. I am 45 and have no quality of life. I want to actively participate in my grand babies lives and I feel that I am missing out on everything. PLEASE pass this Dr's info along, as well as the location. I wold be eternally grateful. I'm looking for a dr that can give me pain meds,I have had two back surgeries and now I'm having problems with my ankle,they gave me a ex ray they found that there is a lot of arthritis around the hardware in there,they gave me a shot but it only lasted 3 days now I'm limping bad on it again. I used to take 4 Tylenol 3's but their not giving them to me anymore,I need to find a dr in my area Titusville,pa thanks

Where in Texas are you? I'm in McKinney. I see a dr. in Mesquite Tx that understands pain. If you have proof you need meds he will help you.

Posters looking for Florida drs, NBT has a good one thru research so go there or this other clinic I have found:

Orange County Medical Solutions 4401 E. Colonial Drive, Orlando, Fl. 407-895-7245.

I have gone there almost ten months now, they follow guidelines & require mri, records, etc but will write meds for you if have all your paperwork. Sign contract, do U/A, then your good. P450, am sending vibes for your ultimate victory in your horrendous journey. Hang in dear Lady....

I have slipped discs, many damages nerves, arthritis in my back, knee and left arm. It's been chronic for over 10 years and the Dr's here are horrible. I have spinal stenosis. And the damage in my back affects the nerves that go down past my knees and they never give me anything that comes close to relief. Can you please help me find a new doctor? I have the results of all MRI's and cat scans and I've even had an arthrodesis. Please help me! The doctors here are worthless!

They are very rude and Receptionists, Lab Workers, Nurses assistants and Nurses all treat you like your lying ABOUT EVERYTHING, AND THEY THINK THAT THEY ARE BETTER THAN YOU! THEY TREAT YOU LIKE A LOWLIFE JUNKIE!!!!! Yeah You might get a prescription, but is it worth swallowing your pride every time?

I have fibromyalgia also and it isn't fun which I'm sure you know. However I have had it since I was 22 and I'm 31 now and still run into the same issues.

1) you need to find a doctor who believes fibromyalgia is REAL. A lot of physicians still don't believe it is due to the lack of tests that they can physically see you have it

2) yes fibromyalgia is very painful but it will be hard to get any narcotics on that diagnosis alone. They do have other medications that are not narcotic that help fibromyalgia which they will want to put you on first. If you have tried all the alternatives then your at a better chance of getting a narcotic but that's still not definite

If you have done both these things, your going to have to be stern with doctors and know that if you haven't been thru the wringer you will have to. I'm sorry to say this to someone in pain especially since I do experience it myself but until the DEA and even doctors realize that fibromyalgia is a true and painful disorder then this is just the facts. Not saying that within your state is the same, cause every state is different but I live in New Jersey and have been thru plenty of wringers I might say cause of my age. I am in very bad back, hip on my lower right side and sometimes i be in so much pain. I don't know what to do my pcp doctor will not prescribe any pain medication that works and that is hydrocodone or percocet. And the reason why im having pain is that i fell over the winter and hit my hip bone. They have taken xrays, cat scan and mri the can't fine anything wrong, but seem to say my lower spine is thinning. Please help fine a very good doctor who can help.
