I WAS ON DILAUDID 4mg. 2x4 a day my Dr. Cut me off cold . I need a Dr. That is in my area who will write me the med. that I need. I was on it for 6yrs. I have proof of all that is wrong with me.

GABULLDAWGS , you aren't goint ot find a dr that is going to prescribe you Dilaudid the first time that you see them. You may not be abel to find a dr that will prescribe you Dilaudid at all. You will also need a copy of your medical records from your previous dr. If you broke your pain contract or did something that you were not suppose to you may not be able to find a dr to manage your pain.

That was cold. Do you know how hard it is to get off of Dilaudid? I was on it for 2 years, 4 mg x 8 a day as needed. I deal w/ chronic back pain for 10 years. I have MRI's & records. A doctor can cut you off for no reason at all. Sometimes it's just to cover their own tail from the DEA. The one I went to cut me off with no warning because I was on benzos for the whole 2 years that I was going to him but he never told me to come off of them until one day out of the blue. I had been on benzos for seven years from another doctor and he just told me to go off of them within three months or he was going to cut me down on my medicine to the point where it was ineffective. It turns out that he dismissed me two weeks after that appointment but never even gave me a chance to go off of the anxiety medicine. I know what this person is going through because I am searching for a doctor now who will prescribe Dilaudid or something just as strong because I have excruciating pain in my back and my neck. I can't afford to go through withdrawal because I have enough pain without it. Don't be too quick to judge because I did not do anything to deserve this discharge only followed all the rules meaning never failing drug panels, just doing what the doctor said but he never gave me a chance to go off of my benzos but just cut me off two weeks after the appointment where he warned me to go off of them but I think that was his plan when I him last time. I read his reviews online after that and found out that his reviews were not as good for the last 2 years now I know why. One cannot just go off of Dilaudid like that because they have to have a waiting. Plus if there is a real physical problem causing pain than it has to be addressed with something to keep the pain under control. This person is like me and they are desperately searching for someone who will help them and a great time of need because they have been on this medicine so long and cannot just go off of it plus they are in a lot of pain just like I am but you just can't trust any doctor these days. I am from Charlotte North Carolina and I would like to know if there's anyone who knows of a great doctor within 40 miles of the Charlotte area who is not afraid to write out pain medicine that actually works because I have records to prove my pain. Also have records to prove that I was on Dilaudid to control the pain and once you go up to something like that it is hard to go backwards because the weaker medicines will not control the pain. Anyone close to this area who can throw out some names would be appreciated. I do understand what you are going from and I do wish you a lot of luck in finding a new doctor to help you with your pain.

Jo: I am also in the Charlotte, NC area and need a very competent AND compassionate Dr. If you get lucky, please give me a shout as I will you. I also need heavy meds. I have cut back from where I once was but still need more than what drs prefer giving in this "political" age. Would love to communicate further by email at some point. Im pulling for you.

Jo , did you sign a pain contract ? Did your dr or someone in the office ask you about prescription medications that you were taking ? Decreasing the dosage may not be fun, but it will make it some easier coming off of meds. No dr is obligated to prescribe any patient a particular med, even if the patient has been takiing that meds for a long time.

BL- curious as to what makes you an authority?? idk what or who you are nor why you 24/7 monitor this website giving your usual degrading to-the-patient recommendations??!

For what reason do you have authority or qualifications to assume the role of a trustworthy source?? And why are your pearls of wisdom always delivered as though you feel patients are wrong (we are all drug addicts) eerily similar to DEA ,FDA, & gov. agencies ruining & even killing perfectly legit pain patients lives??

You have NEVER answered my posts, which to me indicates you hide something--- so fair warning to all new posters to beware of course you. Your be-littling attitude towards innocent patients trying to hold onto what is left of their daily agonizing lives is cruel even criminal. Your right to advise has never been verified, thus seems to me your right to be in this forum is extremely questionable due to the detriments you have placed upon hurting patients in our time of need.

I have personally been effected by snide comments you portray as info but when one is clinging to life, struggling to hold on, barely able to cope then is attacked for reaching out for help this is a recipe for losing hope & suicide even. Your attitude is completely opposite of what is needed here.

Lynx, Im so glad you called Bl out on his comments and his disrepect to all of us that suffer with pain every day 24/7. I've wanted to do the exactly the same as you have done. God bless you for all us that suffer and to the hell with Bl and no one should pay any attention to him as that is what he wants to get people to talk about him so he can feel good about his self. Which is probably pretty low considering the way he belittles everyone on this site. good for you and many thanks from all of us that he has done it to.

There is no reason why people should feel angry or hurt on this site. Lynx thank you for putting BL on the spot and knocking him or her off their soap box. People like them are why we are having trouble getting the treatment we deserve so go somewhere else with that attitude. I'll pray for you so someday you will have the compassion to understand. God help you if your ever in the position we are and need help. God says your reap what you sow so to everyone on here trust God. He has it under control. God bless you all!! :-)

I apologize, with massive medication changes I have not been on. If you IGNORE the devil it cannot blind the light. IGNORE IT and it will go somewhere else.

Surely you all know whether or not someone hurts you that stress increases your pain.

Physicians CAN for now fire anyone.

Odumma will be gone and we will go back to scientifically proven therapy for pain but for now ACCEPT what you can get. These doctors are under liability due to CDC and FDA recommendations.

No pushing no demands you will be FIRED and most here know what I have done and gone through up to winning in the past few weeks in the SUPREME COURT but having gone through a year left to die not by a doctor but by a systems loophole under the ACA.

Let's hold tight and be the decent people we are. And ignore the mouse, it will scurry away once starved of conflict.

The ACA is paying physicians incentives to let chronic patients of any caliber die. I am telling you hold tight, do not get fired. Let's get a new president and reversion to proper medical regimen. I know as most here know I have since my injury referred 10,000 plus suicidal pain patients internationally and here as well as a professional nurse and published researcher!

Dr. Balint may be retired but was in with another physician in Balint Clinic Weyers Cave, Virginia. They do write opioids although please read my other posts on ACA and what is going on. Virginia has gone butt ugly overturned killing people in pain. I hope that helps. Please post back so we know your outcome. Run that name, they were a neurology group.

Charlie,

I have been with Dr. T. since 2010. Presently he is only taking those with severe incurable Central Pain Syndrome and Arachnoiditis and potentially is working within a network. I would suggest Dr. Hy for you. He is also in the San Gabriel Network, and works with Dr. T., he is young in his 40's.

I just reviewed an older post; wrong... You sign a contract for what opioids have as side effects. On the other hand steroids and epidural injections DO CAUSE DAMAGE and a physician cannot promise you that on a contract. Please IGNORE the devil and it will go away...
