Cilift Withdrawal Symptoms And What To Do (Top voted first)

Updated

I feel i am going mad! The only way I can explain how I feel is to say that it feels like vertigo - when you go over a very high bridge or look down from a very tall building. This wave comes from nowhere causing a momentary blackness, my arms go numb from my elbows to my hands and my feet do the same, I then get this awful feeling of butterflies in my chest and stomach. After a while it passes but it certainly doesn't seem to be going anywhere fast. How long will this go on? I am on Homeopathic treatment at moment.

Hi

Can anyone advise me on how I should wean myself off Cilift. I was on a pill a day, then cut it down to half a day and now I am taking half every 2nd day. Is this the correct procedure and how long should I do this for.

My doc told me that when I want to stop taking it(was on a 1 a day regimen), I should start taking 1 every 2 days for a week, then 1 every 3 days for a week and 1 every 4 days..etc till it's 1 per week, then I probably can stop without any withdrawal symptoms

I am on day 8 of weening of cilifit I have been on meds for 10 years. I chose to go to an alternative doc. to help with the process. Day 7 and 8 are the only days I have had none. I went to 10 mg for the first 6 days. Im taking 5 htp and Vitamin B12 and it really seems to be helping, I tried to go cold turkey before and just could'nt handle the withdrawl I call it mis firing spark plugs in my head. so I highly reccommend seeing an alternative doc. to help the process be a little easier... good luck :)

I have been taking Cilift as an anti depressant for more than a year. I have cancer. Cilift works for me & I have had no side effects. However I have been taking it in the am, and today the GP tells me it also causes sleepiness!

I have been on Cilift for 5 years, had no weight gain. I went through my pregnancy with it, with no side effects to the baby. Cilift helped alot, I decided to go more natural with a homeopathic approach . The side effects after stopping with Cilift is not fun, I also have dizziness , and that feeling of miss firing inside your head. I am on day 7 now and hopes it goes away soon....

Hi all, don't go cold turkey. Why would you want to punish yourself? Wean yourself off it until you are skipping days, and remember you might even find the odd brain zap still occurs or nausea and even anger, but persevere. Try and detox with your diet in a healthy sensible way and perhaps drink more water to flush the meds out. All I can say is google, google, and get to know exactly what types of withdrawals you might encounter so you don't get anxious about it. You will be ok. I have started exercising regularly and it has helped tremendously. Rather get natural calming drops, and read up, as this will help you along. But most of all you would need to address why you went on the tabs in the first place. Try and make changes, you won't get a badge for putting up with what is less than perfect for you. You deserve the best. I am sure that nature has a cure for everything, just try and explore what works for you. Keep strong!

I have notifced when I dont drink the pill for 2 or 3 days that my bloodpressure drops tremendously - which is why I experience the dizziness, feel like I want to black out and the vertigo-type withdrawel. My doc gave me low-bloodpressure meds for this but it doesnt really work...

Using cilift for about three months and sometimes i skip a day, i know the not so cool feelings you people are talking about, thats why im here, however, its getting a bit worse, i recently survived an oleander poison suicide attempt and 2days after i was reminded that nothing in my life has changed. i freak out every now and then but im a very peaceful, gentle, nice loving caring person inside, but i react harshly to potential triggers to depression, anger, etc.

I have been on Cilift for +/-6 months due to extreme irritability, anger etc. I don't really like the person I'm becoming on Cilift either. Does anyone else feel, aside from the obvious weight gain, that is makes you feel "distant" and "removed" from people around you? As for intimacy - no way!! I think I would prefer to go off it and see if I feel better inside - what is the general thought aboout Cilift - can it make you feel worse?

I have been taking Cilift for the past 4 years and went cold turkey - even though my GP told me to rather ween myself off. Firstly let me say, I never had ANY adverse effects of Cilift. My weight remained constant, if anything I LOST weight. Cilift decreased my eating libido. I used to take 20mg daily. I have been off it for 9 days and I am starting to feel alive once more. I used it as a crutch. I DO feel the effects of not having Cilift for 9 days. I have read some of the previous posts regarding cold turkey and weening and the collective comments include words such as: 'Wave', 'Funny Head', 'Misfiring spark plugs in my head', 'Electric currents in my head', 'Blackout', 'Butterflies in my head'. I can relate to all of these. But I am going to persevere cos I want and enjoy the sensation of feeling again. I feel SO in control for the first time in a long time eventhough I get these after effects.

I've been on Cilift for 7 years. I stopped taking them six weeks ago. I experience bursts of anger, rage, sadness and an overall feeling of hopelessness. maybe i should start taking it again.

Hi there, Ive been on it since 2002 and trying for the second time to come off it. 1st time I weened like the doc said but felt like I wanted to murder my kids and hubby- terrible mood swings so hubby begged me to go back on. Now a year later I went cold turkey and its not going well at all- that's why I'm here! Its been 10 days and the weird zapping dizzy spells aren't letting up and I want to cry all the time. I almost wish I never went on Cilift in the first place! When I was on it, my panic attacks stopped but I never cried- nothing phased me, I was so uncaring and emotionless. Also ZERO sex drive- had no idea it was because of the drug! I'm adamant to stick it out this time and glad that my withdrawal symptoms are normal! Wish I knew for how long I have to put up with this! P.S It is safe to take during pregnancy but I wouldn't recommend Cilift- try something else!

I'm on 1/4 cilift a day for a week until I build up to 1 a day. I'm on day 5 & have already noticed quite an improvement in my mood but hearing how many of you picked up a substantial amount of weight, I'm having second thoughts about continuing. Is it a common side effect that most people put on weight with this ad?
