White Pills Or Blue? Sprintec

Ok I just recently got on birth control about 4 days ago and I just thought about something. Before I took birth control my period always lasted around 3-4 days. Now that I'm on the pill, there are 7 white pills for your period.... arent the white pills just to keep you on track? like they dont protect you at all right? so do I have to take the white pills all 7 days...like if I end my period early, do I have to keep taking the white pills? Like if I start taking the white pills on sunday, get my period that day, and then it ends...say...thursday, do i just take the white pills still for the rest of that week or do I start taking the next blue pills?

If I don't take the white pill, do I go straight into the blue pill? Thank you!

So, I just got on Sprintec yesterday for the very first time. After researching a little bit more about it I have seen that you should start taking them either on the first day of your period or the Sunday after it. I haven't had my period since January (I'm irregular) and I still haven't started but I've already taken the 1st and the 2nd pill. I was just wondering if that changes anything?? Also, I noticed that at the very bottom of the pack there is a row of white pills.. I was just wondering what the purpose of those were exactly and how are they different from the blue ones

I am not very familiar with Sprintec, but I have been on Beyaz for years now which is a 24/4 birth control pill (24 active pills & 4 placebo type pills each pack). Personally, I have found I much prefer the 24/4 to the 21/7 pills (which I suppose Sprintec is--I have been on a few 21/7 types in the past). My period is usually nearly non-existent every month as opposed to when I took the 21/7 types, in which I would typically have a slightly longer & heavier regular period for 3-4 days. But yes, I would have to take all 7 placebo pills, as is customary for a 21/7 type of pill. Perhaps you should speak with your doctor about your concern -- maybe a 24/4 type of bc pill would be a better option for you? Just a suggestion! :) Best of luck!
