Weaning Off Of Levatol

I am also71yrs old and have been taking levatol 20 mg for 12yrs , can a person wean off of levatol after taking it for 12yrs

It really depends, if it's the only thing that's keeping your blood pressure down, then it wouldn't be safe to stop taking it. There is no cure, per se, for high blood pressure, it can only be controlled, though some people do so with diet and exercise. But it is a condition you have to keep under control for life.

What are you current blood pressure and heart rate levels?

Have you discussed stopping the medication with your doctor?

This medication is a beta blocker and its side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and hypotension.
