Subutex Alternatives (Page 2)
UpdatedI am looking for a way to cut my costs on the medication subutex. I was wondering if there is a generic for this medication. It is very expensive and although a better alternative to using opiates, it is killing my pocket book!
Yes there is a generic for subutex. It is called "Buprenorphine". In 2012 a doctor treated me with 8 mg in the morning and Half a tab "4mg" in the evening. And it went by the name "Buprenorphine" for Subutex. But he did not give it to me for opiate maintenance, he treated me for chronic pain which I dealt with at that time for 15 years. I was amazed that not only did it treat my chronic pain better than any of the other opiate medicine or phyc meds, but I slept better, my depression was lifted and my overall quality of life was better than it had been in all the 15 years. I had to get off of the subutex because of the different health insurance. And they put me on methadone for my chronic pain. It worked but I hated nodding. I have been fighting ever since. So there is your answer. Hope this helps you.
