Suboxone Advice (Top voted first)

Updated

I read almost all your posts. I think I'm way off here probably just a little off in the head. I've been on vicoden and oxy's since 2003. 98% of the time I was buying the crap off the street. The other 2% I would intentionally hurt myself to get a script, pathetic I know. I took a leap of faith and stopped. Went to a Methadone clinic and regretted it ever since. Missed important life moments and lost all my friends. I was on that crap for 4 years and stopped after weening down to nothing. I was clean for over 6 months before cravings got the better of me and I started stealing family members suboxones strips. Now that member is stopping, I'm going nuts. Depressed and constantly thinking suicidal thoughts. I'm 26years old and I'm getting to thinking I need suboxone myself because I'd rather burn cash on something that will help rather than going back to pills. Any and all advice would be much appreciated.
I just want to stop feeling like I need something all the time. Like I'm missing something when I go to work or live my life. I feel my quality of life is depleting.

HI, Matt! Wow! You've been through the ringer in your life, but there's no reason to feel so bad about it, we all screw up and make mistakes, just in different ways. Someone else may be addicted to cigarettes, which can be just as dangerous. :-) Give yourself a break!

What I would suggest is combining something like Suboxone therapy with counseling. Many clinics provide that, but you can also use an outside counselor. That would enable you to learn to handle both issues, because coping skills are something that you're definitely going to need.

But you've realized that you need help and that is the most important thing. Once you face up to it, it gets much, much easier.

There is a website where you can look for a doctor in your area that treats with Suboxone, it's Suboxone.com

How are you feeling today?

Been there bro, my names Chris and I've been on Suboxone/subutex for last 4yrs. so around ur age I wanted a change, needed something different and good in my life. I to have used methadone and IMHO, Subutex/suboxone either one as they r interchangeable due to the fact there both bupe products, work much better, half life is longer, and its not a full agonist! Way less addictive at least for me as I can take week long breaks w/ little to no discomfort or w/drawls! I agree w/ the person that wrote about getting a sub doc. and also find a good shrink u trust in and don't mind sharing everything w/ as if not then no good will come of it! Also stay up, stay strong, exercise if poss. walk, run, etc.... All these things help me when Im dwn and out! Have a good day and Ill pray 4 U, Sincerely CAB-
