Severely Underweight
UpdatedI am a 20 year old female and I am severely underweight (37.5KG) and I have been this weight for the past four years. I have been underweight my whole life but I do not have any form of eating disorder. I have tried desperately to gain weight in many ways and failed. My doctor said I am healthy and 'naturally thin' and i have done blood tests and ruled out thyroid problems.
Since I was a child i have been bullied for being too skinny and this has affected me to a great deal. Over the past 1 year I have developed an anxiety problem (symptoms: dizziness, vomiting, racing heart) where one of the main reasons i get anxious is because I fear getting called out on being too skinny. The anxiety is also caused by other fears and is under control with medication but my weight is still a problem and i would like to know are there any medications that can help me gain weight? I am considering self hospitalizing myself for malnutrition but I do not know if that is the ideal solution. Is there a way to bring me to a healthy weight because eating more is not working and I am afraid that me being underweight may lead on to severe depression. There are medications for people who are overweight and similarly having a bmi of 15 is NOT healthy i need medication/ help.
