Severe Rigors, Flu Symptoms, Kidney, Lung Problems

after taking this drug became very sick with headache, severe rigors, flu like symptoms, pain that moved around organ to organ, pleuresy with severe lung pain, couldn't lie down for days. Tests revealed nothing. I am normally very healthy and this episode was put down to viral infection by my doctor. Has anyone else had these symptoms after taking Macrobid?

I too had severe flu like symptoms, I was very fatigued, muscle and joint pain, and extreme difficulty with breathing. It is 9 months later and I now have severe allergies, asthma and my lung function on a good day is at 70%, all of which began after I took Macrobid.

My symptoms were exactly the same. It happened twice a year apart. I was given a double perscription for a bladder infection. Told to take half now and save the rest in my medicine cabinet for future infections. I ended up in the hospital for 5 days and they put it down to a virus. A year later I felt like I was getting another bladder infection so took one macrobid. Within 3 hours I was in the emergency room with severe rigors. I knew then it was not a virus but a reaction to the macrobid. This drug should not be on the market.

I am now taking it and 30 mins after I take it i get sick. If I eat something with it I throw up. I feel very shaky and tired. I know it has to be the Macrobid because it only happens when i take the it.
