Quitting Levothyroxine
UpdatedI had my thyroid completely removed in February 2016. My TSH levels skyrocketed post surgery so I am consequently on .4mg of Levothyroxine daily. I don't feel very well nowadays - low energy, achy, etc. I would like to stop taking it. Is it safe to quit?

Hello, Linda! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems you're experiencing.
A lost of your symptoms are most likely due to not having a thyroid, anymore and are likely to get worse, if you stop taking your medication.
When is the last time your levels were checked? You may need a dosage adjustment.
The FDA lists its typical side effect as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and weight changes.
