Prolia Side Effects (Page 70)

I would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.
Jan~it all depends on how active Prolia is in your body. When was your last injection? Six months after that the Maxofacial Docs will work with your teeth and gums. As I wrote before, some people had braces put on but never reported back. Also in doing implants they use extremely sterilized cadaver bone to help build up your bone mass so the implant stays in. I had just a super tiny little bit but it was sufficient to keep my implant in. With osteoporosis, we all lose a little bone in the jaw so the use of cadaver bone is nothing new. We can only thank the people that left their bodies for science to help the rest of us. If it has been over 6 months go talk to the specialists. It's downright amazing what they can do. Wishing you the best. Be well~Pood
Pood and others:
I saw a tv commercial while awake at 3am for: Classaction.com. I searched Prolia and nothing came up. Their site allows you to submit your case. If everyone submitted their prolia scenario they may take notice.

Let's try?!?! I'm so sick and tired of waiting to feel better once prolia is gone from my system... The TV commercials touting its healthy use infuriates me as I stress that others will continue to be given this drug.
What do you think?
Can everyone visit the site and submit their prolia horror story? It might turn into something. There is no cost and currently no case. We can make one.
Quantifying that - it has been 3 years now in February since injection, so dentist is cleaning up my teeth issues. Man, is it expensive! But nice to know he can save them.
We need to file a class action lawsuit against this compnay
Linda, at the cost of implants, I believe you should contact an attorney in your area and ask him/her if willing to go against Amgen Corp. on a split win. If you win, you get 60% and the attorney gets 40% but it actually works out that they get more than their 40% because you are charged for every phone call, stamp and piece of paper. You have a beyond excellent case. You may have to ask as many as ten-15 attorneys but you will find one that will do a great job for you. I would also put the Doctor that gave you the injection in as a party to the suit along with Amgen. Could be that Amgen really does not want to go to Court and would settle your case by mediation -- your attorney shows them your bills and they decide if they are going to pay your bills with the help of a Mediator who would push them to pay. He acts like a Judge. It's cheaper for Amgen to do mediation than to go to a full fledged court suit. Both sides have an attorney just like in Court but it is a much cheaper way to go. This way you don't get pain and suffering, etc. You just get your bills paid. If Amgen would happen to win, you pay nothing and your attorney receives nothing. Get out your phone book and start calling. Be well~Pood
It seems that all these types of meds are intefering with teeth, causing all kinds of problems. ZOMETA is no different, bones are turning into sand, especially the long leg bone, femur. My MD has not had me oa any of these meds for 4 years now b/c she's afraid to use anymore of them on me. I was on oral meds for 40+ years and all these meds stay in the body forever, there is no half life etc. !
I don't know what to do with my dental issues... since prolia my teeth are loose, I have developed gum disease which I never had before, lost 3 teeth, have drymouth and mouth sores... but was told implants and posts are not to be used with prolia- bone has to grow and adhere to implants... I need additional implants... what do others know about this?
My dentist will not even work on people who have taken these bone meds!
Doris~I have noticed many ladies are signing on with Lawyers and Settlements. In all truthfulness I do not know how they work or decide on a case. Could be a place to start at least. Be well~
please do not take this injection !!! IT HAS CAUSED ME AN EPIRETINAL TEAR, POOR VISION PENDING SURGERY FOR SAME ! Teeth problems ensued from PROLIA. Back problems and all the other complaints written on this board for years are all true !!! DO NOT USE THIS DRUG !!!!!
My mom ended up in the hospital because of the extreme pain and they center to the pain clinic and they gave her an injection of numbing medicine. It's not a steroid it's just numbing and that really helped
Jeanne, I'll check with an attorney in our office Monday to see how to go about filing a suit. Know there could be lots of others won are wondering as well. Thx for your feedback.
I am 79 years young with a compound back fracture from a car accident in the '50's. Since developing osteo, my Endocrinologist thought I should do the Prolia shots to strengthen. Wrong move for me. I have trouble standing/sitting down due to sharp pulling in groin area, radiating down thigh. Nothing else but warm compresses and occasional pain meds. Awful stuff and a ripoff as so expensive. How can this be gotten off the list of "preventatives"?
Yes I would like to know how we should do this I've been thinking about this for my mother but not sure how to go about this. I feel one should be started also
Linda, I lost a molar just after my second injection and had never thought of the connection. I just recently had an infection in my front tooth which already had a root canal and a crown. I was on antibiotics and my wonderful dentist was able to save it! I did have to get another crown to the tune of $1350 but at least I have a tooth. He told be that it was caused by dry mouth which is the side effect of a drug! Well, there you go finally someone is being honest with me. My mouth is still dry and at great expense I'm seeing a specialist for that. This is after stopping Prolia after my last injection July, 2016!. If you are suffering from dry mouth try and get help for that. I tried Biotene but I needed something stronger. I was also on an antivirus but had to stop due to side effects! I phoned Amgen but all I got was that they were sorry that I was dealing with so much..They said they'd had so few complaints of side effects! I got very emotional and they said I needed to calm down and get some therapy to deal with my issues. I will now boycott any of their drugs and have told my family and friends to do the same. I even emailed one of our major newspapers but as yet have not heard back.. Sorry to hear about your teeth.i plants are very pricey.
I had my first and only Prolia shot in November 2016 and, instead of helping my osteoporosis, it has all but crippled me. I have severe injuries from a car accident in the '50's and the crap from the injection seems to have gone to those weaker areas and have cause jabbing nerve pains in my lower back, into the groin area and into my right thigh. Am presently seeing my awesome chiropractor who is using a process to help reduce the inflammation, but no adjustments as the osteo has progressed. I do feel somewhat better and am also waiting for the 6 months to get here to hopefully feel like I did before the injection. My regrets is the doctor or pharmicist didn't alert me to the possible side effects. Hang in there Gals. They say it can't get anything but better. I was advised to file a class action suit against Prolia. Has anyone else thought of this?
I lost two more teeth yesterday. That makes 7 teeth that I have lost since taking Prolia. I am just sick about it. I will be starting on dental implants soon. It is so expensive but do not have a choice. I think the drug company should pay for my implants but I am sure that won't happen
I feel for your mom. Her list of side effects reflects mine. Hopefully she can look forward to feeling a little better at the end of each month- that is how I try to gauge my recovery from Prolia. Keeping track of what is a little better helps with feeling overwhelmed with how awful one feels. Glad you are there for your mom...
Poodle I have been cruzing the different threads and am realuzing I am having many of the side effects. Depression, short of breath, heart flutters, short temper, cold and hot. I am praying my side effect leave after 2 months or at least reduce significantly.
I just phoned Amgen's helpline who I've spoken to before. All they could say was that they've heard of very few cases of side effects and that I should stop taking it!!!! Duh! They said it was unusual for side effects to start after a second or 3rd injection. Got the feeling they didn't believe me. I was also asked if it was a bone specialist who prescribed it. No, it was my gynocoligist ! Oh, it wasn't a bone specialist! Now I'm wondering if my Dr knows what she's doing!
In other words, I got no answers. Ladies, we're on our own!
