I would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.

Waiting for class action lawsuit myself even though I swore I would NEVER be involved in one . This med has damn near killed me and still have a year to go before out of my system . Hope I live that long . 58 yrs old . DO NOT TAKE THIS DRUG PLEASE

It's been almost 9 months since I have had an injection of PROLIA and still experiencing painful sideffects of this poison remaining in my body. This is the worst of any medical treatments I've ever had in my life and I will never do it again!

Call Amgen / Contact FDA. Keep writing letters, making phone calls and tell all your doctors of your Prolia experience. Send update letters to FDA and let them know of your progress and suffering.

I would like to ask all of you to go to the FDA website (fda.gov) and please please please fill out the MedWatch Form. You don't have to fill out all the info on the form in order to submit it. I called the FDA yesterday and the person told me to do this. She also said they truly take all reports into concern for warnings etc with drugs. Please tell them your side effects from this awful drug Prolia. My dad can no longer walk and had the shot in August. See previous comments on here. I want them to put on the warning label that this drug is not always gone from the body in 6 months. I see other comments on here that people say they feel awful for longer than 6 months. The person at FDA even admitted to me that it stays in bodies longer than 6 months for some people depending on their health, age, etc. Then they need to list that on the label and those drug reps that don't educate doctors properly, or the ignorant doctors need to tell patients before they prescribe this killer drug. PLEASE FILL OUT THE FORM. You don't have to complete all the info.

This drug is poison and should be removed from the market. It is a deadly and horrible drug. Amen drug company is still pushing it along with the doctors that prescribe it. It is all about money and not the welfare of the patients. I have and am still suffering from the injections I had. Not much information was available when I took the drug and I trusted my doctor. I really regret ever taking Prolia it has been a nghtmare for me. PROLIA POISON

I also do not think my doctor meant any harm and truly did not think that side effects would occur-he assured me that none of his patients experienced side effects. HOWEVER, when I reported my first side effect (hair loss 2 weeks after the shot), he denied Prolia as the origin of the problem. When I reported bone pain, Prolia was also rejected as a cause. Now with the parathyroid problem and lower jaw pain, he is still not considering Prolia as a potential cause. So, while I do not feel that prescribing the shot was done with any negligence or harmful intent, I am not comfortable with the ongoing denial of the potential of Prolia to cause harm. I would really like a link to this site to be given to all patients BEFORE the shot occurs. We are not scientific proof, but there are enough of us to at least open the door to validation.

I have had two prolia shots and after the misery I have experienced I am done. Pain, horrific nausea, hot flashes, fatigue. Had I done more research I would have never started with this med.

I developed a serious thyroid disorder following the one and only Prolia injection I received. It was first diagnosed as simple hyperthyroidism but later on as Graves disease with an extremely serious ophtalmopathy. My eyes started to bulge and I almost lost my vision due to a compression on the optical nerve. It is a miracle I recovered some of the lost vision. Drs here did not want to diagnose it as a complication secondary to the Prolia injection and never diagnosed the optical nerve compression because every tine I mentioned Prolia they acted defensively. It took for me to travel overseas where several of my family members are MD’s for me to be properly diagnosed and treated... I was hospitalized abroad and suffered horribly away from my husband and children for two and a half months... Prolia doesn’t just leave your body a year later.... it alters your immune system in often irreversible ways. Im the living proof that this us an extremely dangerous drug....

My story is similar. Within a few months of Prolia, I developed extreme muscle pain and stiffness, I couldn’t even smile. I saw three Dr.’ s who blew off my complaints as “Just Fibromyalgia “. JUST Fibromyalgia??? Anyway, I went back to New York to my previous Dr. knowing he would listen to me. He ordered labs and I was found to have SEVERE hypocalcemia , to the point where it could have affected my heart. ! In addition, I had severe hyperparathyroidism ! I hate to think what might have happened to me if I hadn’t taken matters into my own hands. This is why I strongly encourage people to be their own advocates. Ps, one Dr. apologized to me, and now listens to me. The others are no longer my Dr’s.

I just read a short piece about “ Medical Gaslighting “, when physicians not only are dismissive, but sow doubt in their patients. Judging by the response, it is a pervasive problem as we can all attest.

Apparently there have been studies on this and I took a short quiz indicating that, yes, I have have been experience this not only with Prolia, but throughout my life. This may be an area in whic we can participate.

Gloria just told my story! I too wish I had done research, but I foolishly allowed myself to be frightened into it . To anyone considering this drug, my advise is DO NOT ! Instead check out sights like Save Our Bones and THe Better No es Blog where you will receive information about diet and exercise, plus updated on what Big Pharma is doing.

My GP also said he had over 100 patients who took the shot and no side effects. However, when I reported my negative reactions and side effects ( multiple), he said it Prolia was not the cause. So, I am probably included in the group that he references with no side effects.

Re: Darcy (# 3110) Expand Referenced Message

I can’t agree with you more. I, too, was told by my specialist that my side effects were caused by stress and not prolia. She went on to say that she’d never had any other patients have any side effects. The final straw was when she said that she worked closely with the drug company who produced prolia. That did it, I dropped her. So yes, there are side effects and I lost a front tooth to prove it as well as sores in my mouth which developed after my 2nd injection. The moral of this story is, “do your research before you take a drug” and keep informed.

Judy: My rheumatologist is into research. After years of recommending prolia and after I developed a boney tumor over my eye, my rheum told me the cases they were studying produced many boney growths in the jar. Serious stuff. Not sure what to recommend as I have been on nothing and now have 6 rods in my spine from fractures. We really can't win.

The Prolia.com website lists a range of of serious infections, including bladder infections, which can be side-effects of Prolia. I have read elsewhere of UTIs being caused by Prolia. I didn't experience them myself but had many other side-effects of various kinds.

Prolia was a horrible drug for me. I wish I had known all the horrible side effects and that it was also being used for Cancer patients, I would have never taken it. I tolerated 7 injections and gradually got worse and worse, muscle pain, joint pain, the pain was becoming unbearable! I have suffered most of the horrible side effects or Prolia. Still have permanent damage from it. Still suffering from the side effects. I hope this helps someone not to go through what I am going through because of Prolia. A form of Chemotherapy, they do not advertise this, of course.

I had horrible side effects from Prolia, wish I had never taken it. Found out through research that it has been used for bone cancer patients since 2010, a form of Chemo. And no, they do not advertise that face!
