Please Help! Starting Suboxone!!
UpdatedI am addicted to opiates and have been for about 7-8 years. I have already started the process of Suboxone treatment at a Suboxone clinic. Where i am going you have to see the Doctor 1x per month, the therapist every 2 weeks, and group therapy 2x per week. I had an appointment the day before yesterday (Nov. 4, Tuesday) and I seen the therapist who explained everything to me and asked me everything about myself. Then she scheduled an appointment for me to see her again on Nov. 17. They also scheduled me an appointment for today (Nov. 6 Thursday) to see the Doctor. I was under the impression I would see him and after everything was done he would start me on Suboxone today. Well he didn't. I went in, mind you I was in moderate withdrawal, and he asked me practically the same questions the therapist asked me the other day and he asked what my drug of choice is and when I used. It only took about 20 minutes then he told me he would schedule me an appointment to go to their other office (there is a north and south office) to have an "Orientation" appointment. He said they would treat me then. My Orientation appointment is not until Nov. 13, Thursday which is exactly one week away. :/ I was not happy.
So, I researched to find out for sure what the Orientation appointment is and I can not find anything on an Orientation for Suboxone. Does this mean I have for sure been accepted for treatment or will the doctor decide at that appointment? I figured it would be like a job, once you get an orientation you are in (hired). So I am hoping this means that I've been accepted and will get to start my Suboxone on Thursday at Orientation. They told me at my first visit that I would only see this doctor first then I would go to the North office to be treated and seen by that doctor from there on out. they have not done any urine tests or anything of that nature. Also, today after realizing I would not be started on Suboxone for another week, I went out an got a Suboxone from a friend to keep me from having awful withdrawals until then. I have enough Suboxone to cut the edge off and last me for 3 more days which will be 4 days before my Orientation appointment. If they do drug test me, will a very small amount of Suboxone show up and if it does, will they drop me or still treat me? Should I just go ahead and tell the Doctor about taking very small amounts of suboxone to keep the withdrawals at a minim until my appointment? I really wish Thursday would hurry! I am miserable and so tire of buying an worrying about pills all the time or having to go through horrible withdrawals. Any advice or help would be great!! I am worried about it. Thank you!!
