Percocet Addict

What is the timeline for withdrawal from percocet? Many say that it takes a month. Is that true?

Hello, Rileyrose 1! How are you?

It can vary from person to person and will also depend on how long they were taking it, how much they were taking and how often they were taking it. It could actually vary anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks, give or take.

The FDA lists the typical withdrawal effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, fever, chills, rebound pain and diarrhea.

Is there anything else I can help with?

Hi thanks for the reply I was taking them on and off for nearly 3 years. 10 mg percs 4 to 5 x a day. Just have chills everyday and depression. Went cold turkey 10 days ago. Not going back to it again! Was so much more energized taking them. Wonder when natural energy will come back again.

Hi Rileyrose 1!! Hopefully by now you no longer need any questions answered and are away from the pills. I have been taking perc 30s anywhere from 1 to 4x a day EVERY DAY for about 6 months. I finally decided to quit as a new years resolution. Being an addict i dragged it on "another day" and "just one more" until I actually quit on January 6, 2016. today has been the 9th day and i no longer feel any symptoms of withdrawal. The first day without was not too bad. The second day was about 20x worse than the first day. the 3rd day was by far the worst. All of the days sort of blend together when you are withdrawing due to lack of sleep. For the first 72 hours clean i was unable to fall asleep at all. I instead binge watched all of Always Sunny in Philladelphia, All of the Die Hard movies, All of the Rocky movies, and all of the Matrix movies, and all of the Bourne movies. It was a good way to pass the time. anyways lol after the first 72 hours i could see the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel. i was able to function because i was drinking nearly a gallon of water every 2-3 hours. Helps flush everything out! Be sure to have plenty of soup!! it helped when i had no appetite.. when your appetite comes back after the first 72 hours you will eat and eat and eat like you haven't eaten during the whole time you were using. You will have to deal with minor discomfort after first 3 days. Day 4 i was feeling better than day 3, but not by much. Each day with stretching, working out, eating and drinking lots throughout the day will bring more comfort and take away more pain. By the 5th day you are almost there. you have almost kicked this s***ty habit. day 6 and you start to feel better about yourself. you start to see what you put your mind to can actually happen. Your confidence will rise tremendously, as well as your spirits by the end of day 7, because you will not be feeling anyMAJOR withdrawal symptoms. Restlessness is common but working out and letting your body go back to a normal life will tire your body out. I dont know who you are and you do not know me, yet we share an unspoken bond. I hope everything is well and you that you are clean by now. If you are not clean and are still using, i hope you can find the courage to quit. It is something you have to want. You will miss the person you used to be, and when you are ready to make a change, DO IT. Only you have the power to change. And we all know you can do it. Good luck.

Re: johnnyontheperc (# 3) Expand Referenced Message

Hi, I'm Dedee. A doctor cut my radial nerve and my muscle in my left arm under my shoulder in half. This happened in surgery in 2010. It has never healed. I can only lift my left arm half way up. Now it's 2018 and my doctor has kept me on Percocets for almost 10 years. I'm ready to quit!! Can someone tell me what time frame I'm looking at to stop cold turkey by myself? I've tried once for almost 3 days but I was sweating so much. My arm and foot hurt so bad. I was looking for something to stop the sweats. I found something for the diarrhea but not for the pain yet. I used the 5 hour energy drink so that I don't feel so tired.
