Honestly, I think this War on Drugs is going to back fire in the government’s faces. Everyone who enjoys that relaxed feeling, that doctor’s give out so freely will end up switching to heroin. Even though they never thought of doing stronger drugs, now they will search until they achieve that same relaxation they received from a doctor. Wouldn't you rather have people using and abusing drugs that are made and regulated by the government, professional doctors, and scientists? Anything can be added to heroin or street drugs, but everyone knows when they stumble across a pill that looks different. Society will always search for that feeling of relaxation. A wider range of people think they find a safe method to enjoy that feeling, and now it is being taken away from them. More people will be overdosing, dying, and abusing much stronger drugs because of this product being removed from the market. Not to mention, the government makes more money from the production of OxyContin. Our government wins when more medication is filled. Wins when people realize they let OxyContin control their lives and decide to go to rehab. And for the people who refuse help, they would have been doing other drugs anyways, so eventually law enforcement would catch up to them, and the government would win AGAIN when they get arrested. And for the people who simply enjoy a safe form of relaxation, they could continue buying prescription medication in moderation, and the government can still make money off of them. Just tax OxyContin like you do everything else in this corrupt country and everyone can win and be happy!! In my opinion, the government and President Obama will have a bigger issue than they know how to deal with when people switch to other drugs and this country is ruined…

I have been hearing about this for a while now, I live in a community where oxy contin abuse is rampant, and people are freaking out wondering how they will keep their habits up, People snort them, so what will happen when these new op's are crushed? if it's crushed up how is the time release still on ? and will you still feel it? how long will the time release take to take full effect?

The new Oxycontin OP is made to prevent abuse, it is still time released, like the original, however, even if crushed to try to take it improperly, it retains its time released function.

Still causes the same side effects: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth.
