Opiates Or Suboxone (Top voted first)

Updated

Would a doctor rather write scripts gor pain killers or suboxone? I've been on opiates for 10 yrs as has my husband. He was recently put on suboxone and seems to be doing so much better and I'd like to change as well and have had people tell me that a dr would rather prescribe something like suboxone instead of the strong pain killers that I'm currently on...Tia

Hello, Melissa! How are you?

Some doctors do prefer it, due to the fact that the Naloxone in it helps prevent a patient from being able to abuse other opiates. That's why it's also the preferred medication for addiction treatment, now.

The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth.

However, it is entirely up to your doctor, they may not want to prescribe it.

Is there anything else I can help with?

I hate to say it now but if your still having trouble find kratom. It is the only thing that will help without starting a new very strong med. I quit with kratom and I had no hope for it to work, now I'm drug free. Best stuff on the market. It's natural but it will disconnect you from withdrawals. They will be nonexistent and kratom is sold everywhere. Good luck.
