Just started on Chantix three days ago....no negative side effects so far. I am a registered nurse and am aware of the positive and negative effects of this drug. That said, this is my last hope as I have never been able to quit before. Family and friends are watching me closely for behavioral abnormalities. My quit date is set for 4 days from now! Really having high hopes for this pill....lol. It has helped many doctors and nurses that work with me. Just be aware of your body, and have a line of communication open with your family and doctor to express your thoughts and feelings. I would love to chat with others who are currently on Chantix, lets hope this works!!!

Hi, I hope you're doing well on your Chantix!
I will have my family watch me carefully with this medicine, for mood changes, etc. I am mom to 3 adult autistic children, so will have to e absolutely positive that things are ok mentally.

Good luck to you too! Its been three days smoke free and ten eight days on Chantix! Its working well, still have some urges but am handling them just fine. I do notice so far I cry very easy....as soon as I do I stop and tell everyone its the Chantix....lol! Its a small price right now for the amount of help its giving me. But still a long way to go. Thank god for crocheting and sugar free gum =) Good luck!

I am on week 4 of the Chantix. I may be a little moodier than usual, but no major depression issues. I do find that stopping itself is easier if you don't go buy a pack of smokes. I don't have the urge to smoke, but if a pack is laying around, I will keep smoking, probably out of habit more than need. The dreams this time are not as bad as they were a few years ago when I first tried Chantix. The main symptom I am having this time is gastro-intestinal, Bloating Constipation, flatulence, I keep hoping it will improve with time. Good Luck on your journey.

I am week 4 of Chantix. A little Moodier than usual, but no major depression problems. I had a few packs around the house when I decided to quit and I have found it easier to do if you get rid of them. I don't have the urge to smoke, but if I have a pack, I keep lighting up. I think it is more out of habit than need. So if you are on your second week of chantix, try not to buy anymore. Out of sight, out of mind. The chantix helps, but you have to be ready to quit in order for it to work. The only side effects I am having is the bloating, constipation, very gassy, and the fatigue. I could sleep all the time, if I did not have to force myself to go to work. I am hoping that it will get better in time and I think that since I quit smoking, that I may try to cut my chantix in half to see if the symptoms get any better.

Hi! I just completed week 2 of chantix and quit on their recommend quit date successfully. It was funny because the night before I went out and bought a new pack and told myself I was going to stay up til midnight just smoking and saying goodbye to an old friend...lol...(that's how bad of a smoker I was.) And I did, but around 10pm I had had enough and actually held a ciggarete up and said " your really not that great!"your and I destroyed the remaining pack by running it under water and crushing them, and throwing away all ashtrays and lighters! Its been 8 days now and I'm hanging in there! I do want one.....but I can handle the urges fine with this medicine. I enjoyed nothing more than a cup of coffee and to chain smoke first thing in the morning. I thought it would be to hard to enjoy coffee again....but its OK, I still enjoy my coffee every morning now instead I do my daily activity on the get- quit plan that goes along with it....(its stupid really but it takes my mind off smoking for a second....and I guess that's the point). Also, I have joined every quit smoking group, blog, helpline, workbook, anything!!!! No negative side effects thus far.....but still a long way to go! Good luck to all!!!
