Need A Doctor To Help Me With My Add

Hello. I just recently graduated from college and entered the work force. I've suffered from ADD for as long as I can remember (or at least I think I do as I have never been diagnosed). It is tremendously difficult for me to stay on one task at a time let alone complete a task. This is due to the fact that my mind routinely cycles through a million different things a minute. I am VERY forgetful as I am easily distracted. I have a hard time getting through conversations smoothly not only because I forget what people say to me in the previous sentence but because I seem to but in and cut people off. The longer someone speaks the worse it is. I also have a hard time staying organized and punctual. I don't know if this is related but I am also tired most of the day. I work in customer service and these problems are amplified due to me having to deal with people. I've never tried prescription drugs before but am curious. I know that doctors usually snub you if you ask for prescriptions but I really think something like adderal might help. I need a doctor in Gainesville to help me. Does anyone have any recommendations? It's kind of embarrassing "asking for drugs" but Any help would be great.

Yes, they do tend to view it as being drug seeking, if you ask for a specific medication. The best thing to do is to see a psychiatrist, discuss your symptoms and problems, then let them suggest a treatment option.

According to the FDA, Adderall is listed as possibly being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, anorexia, insomnia and weight loss.

Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area?

Do you have a PCP that might be able to refer you to someone? If so, that might be the quickest and easiest way to find the help you need.
