Need Help Finding Doctor To Prescribe Either Oxycodone Vicodin Or Methadone 10mg For My Chronic Pain (Page 8)
(Newest replies first)

Updated

I have been suffering from chronic pain for 7 years and have always been on and off pain meds from tylenol 3 to 90mg methadone at the worst of any ever taken. I decided to dose down & get off of methadone as I did not care for the "clinic" enviroment per say as I was using more for pain then for addicition. I found a dr that prescribed me the pain meds for breakthrough pain and the pill form of methadone 10mg was what I chose but now he is gone as he lost his license which sucks for me because NO ONE will give me anything, not even the methadone unless I go back to the stupid clinc and I so don't want that... DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A DR. that would prescribe anything or just something to get me through life with less pain? I am in the twin cities of Minnesota and I will drive if need be.

wilhearts, there are no laws that state a PCP has to refer a patient to a specialist. It is still up to each PCP when and if they refer a patient to a specialist. For some patients that didn't have insurance, their pcp's may have not have referred them to a specialist before because of their inability to pay the specialist. But, now that they have insurance, that is not a problem. There are no laws that say a pcp can't prescribe opiates to a chronic pain patient. Unfortunately, some drs say there are.

Mimi, Due to all the abusive drug users. DEA forgot the ones that are in need of some things to get use through the day. The worst thing that I have experience is the pain that us where no one else can see. Yes they might know what you been through but looking outside they have no clue how much pain you are in . No two people have same pain, no two people can be treated with the same exact medicine for about the same issues bc every ones tolerance or body digestive systems are different. The only thing now due to all the abuse and drug users is become what my doctor calls a "pill head". He said he is a pill pusher and I am a pill head. That's how we are labeled now in eyes of ER's, family doctors, pain doctors and worse is family and most of all the Government of our state and with the New so called Obama care is more like " Obama Got You' so now Family Physician aren't able to take generations of clients and knowledge of your family history. No . Now the new law requires the family physicians has to refer you to a pain specialist. In other words a pill pusher. A psychiatrist and then they so call give you at 1st appt. A consultation. (to see if you are not an abuser but really it's causing our insurance a chance to rewrite your contract to not pay for one or other. Yes anyone out there may my insurance covers everything I get ( Hold your great luck bc I promise you that b4 5 mths is up. Enough to resign with your insurance for next year. Then you be ready for a lifetime experience where you took mths and my case year's to get the right medication so I can still have a quality life with out my family seeing me either over medicated or in worst pain then ever I'm sorry for the long response. I'm trying to get everyone else that lives with a pain so bad that your family is either wandering if you are having an addiction issue or if they need to call police b4 they lose their love one. . I can actually get up and spend some time with my family and the medication helps me to have a level 3,4 of pain . With out. I can't imagine my life. So to answer your question. You need to go to a Primary care physician and ask for a referral to get pain medication. If you have not been through injections . Well that will probably be 1st thing, me ( it's like taking a Tylenol. Others it does help. Obama has it so you will see at least two maybe three physicians a month. And insurance is what he assured every one would have. Not that you find yourself getting generic. And insurance only pays for Name Brand at 1200.00 a pop. But also to realize that you are back in position 1. It doesn't work for you like the generic did. So again you are exposed to family and friends as a drug user. Sorry for not specified only your questions. But to see what you will experience through your hunt to live with pain but at a tolerable amount.

I don't care what people say. It's not the doctor's fault its the people's faults for wanting to get out here and act like ediotes and the suboxen medicines don't do a damn thing for pain

I know a primary Dr to write Xanax in Mint Hill. Dr Kenard. And the pain doc who he can refer you to would let you take 3 mgs a day. ( of zanax)or he will not write but first you go to Kenard, then get a referral to Gaston PC in Gastonia. They will write if you are legit.

KDU18, What is your location? Your post says, "I really need some refer and it's impossible to find some help.". Are you saying you need refer as in referral? It'd be very helpful to know your city & state if you're looking for help from this thread's participants.

Sassy, Tramadol is Not considered a Schedule II med Federally. There are one or two states where Tramadol is a Schedule II under state law. Put, your state name Tramadol Drug Scheduling, in google and you can find out what schedule Tramadol is in your state. You can also put, DEA Tramadol Drug Scheduling, in google and read that it has been a Schedule IV for a few yrs.

I have a dr. thats totally cool about that stuff. You tell him whats wrong, he'll ask, "What has worked best for you on the past?" Then he'll totally prescribe you a small dose at first. Like I have knee problems then he asked me the question, I gave him my answer and he's starting me off with 60 pills which only lasts 15 days, he told me to come back and see him in 1 mo. To talk about how its working and he'll do that till you both get it right. Anyway, his name is Dr. Kevin Gardner, he works in Layton, Ut at the building right next door to Davis hospital's main entrance. His phone number is 801-773-4770. I hope this helps because I have no idea where you live (:

Rnld L33 , Tramadol is a Schedule IV drug. It can be called in and up to 5 refills can be given on one prescription. You also do not have to see your dr at least once every 90 days. But, it is up to each dr how they chose to prescribe Tramadol.

Brim in Pa tramadol has been upgraded to schedule3 the DEA is making it to where the people that need them are f***ed like me. These junkies have ruined a perfectly good thing. I was able to walk without pain but thanks to the holy war on drugs my x doctor was forcing me off my meds so I left to another place which got shutdown. Now I can't find anyone that will help me and it sux, f*** the DEA & junkies.
