Naive To Narcotics In Utah And Co
UpdatedAs I read through the sometimes heartbreaking threads, I find myself wondering why it is so hard from the Mid-West through the East Coast, to find a physician and or pain mgt DR to prescribe narcotics to us folks, the chronically ill??? So far, and God willing, it has not yet been like that on the West Coast, specifically California. Please shed some light, and better yet, what can I do to help? I could not imagine going through life without the aid and support of not only my pain meds, but my wonderful pain mgmt support team. God bless us all!

Hello, Cherokeemama! How are you?
I'm sorry, but I don't know what you could do to help.
Yes, many people have been drastically affected by these regulation changes over the past year and it doesn't seem that it is over, yet.
However, it is also like that out here on the west coast, may hospitals and doctor's offices have had signs up stating they can no longer prescribe controlled substances or handle pain management, unless a person has a possibly fatal illness, such as stage 4 cancer.
It may not have changed anything for you, if you were already seeing a pain management specialist, but for those who weren't, these changes have caused many problems. Some people are even having a problem getting in with a specialist, since many of them have been so flooded with new patients.
Has anyone else experienced problems from the changes?
