Morphine Are My Ua Test Results Normal

Updated

I have a prescription for 30mg morphine 3 times a day. So, in a 48 hour period I took 6 of them. My doctor told me that if I didn't have the correct level in my system that it would be a problem. My UA test showed 16896 ng/mL. Is that a normal level for what I had taken, or is she going to have a 'problem' with me? Thank you!

I am very sorry, but no one here is going to be able to give you an answer to that question.

There are many factors that go in to determining what your level should be other than just the dosage and dosing frequency. The other elements included are things such as your metabolism, overall health, average fluid intake, your regular activity levels and etc. All of that goes in to determining the range your levels should be in and the equations necessary to do so are not made public.

In theory, if you didn't take any more, nor any less than what was prescribed, then you really shouldn't have anything to worry about.

When will you get the results from the doctor?

Thank you for the reply. I take my medication as prescribed, so I am not that worried about it. The main reason I asked is because I had taken a UA at my previous appointment and then at my latest appointment, she said the previous one had come back problematic, and if this one did also, then there would be an issue. The previous UA level was closer to 10000 ng/ML. I saw my test results online while viewing my medical records from the clinic several days ago. I don't actually have another appointment with her until January. I would think that if she found a problem with my latest level she would call or contact me and tell me to come in sooner and that hasn't happened so I assume I am okay. I guess I just don't understand why she had raised a concern because like I said, I do take my medication the way I am supposed to - never more than or less than directed. Thanks again for your reply.
