Is Trazodone Hydrochloride (Molipaxin) still available for prescription?

I haven't found any information stating that this medication isn't available. Have you tried contacting your local pharmacies to see if they carry it?

Yeah I've tried but its amazing how many will not answer the phone, inc. Boots etc.
Of the two that have deemed to answer the phone, the most helpful one was my small local chemist.
They have a couple of packs but they tell me that their 2 suppliers show Molipaxin not in stock. What was really helpful was that they gave me the telephone number of Winthrops who make Trazadone Hydrachloride.
I rang them and they were surprisingly helpful and admitted that there are some problems apparantly caused by one of their competitors, (not specified), closing down.
I guess that means that they have been caught out by the demand.
The Winthrop Customer Care representitive said that 150mg Trazadone Hydrachloride tablets are available as an emergency request and 50mg Molipaxin is apparently still available.
The inference seems to be that Molipaxin may be available in a few months time but when asked he suggested ringing him again in a week or so to get update.
I can only conclude at this moment in time is that there are low stocks of 150mg Trazadone Hydrachloride, (generic version of medication), but should be available if pharmacies push their suppliers to obtain them from Winthrop. Molipaxin supplies, however, may not be fully available for several months.
I hope that GP's are up to date with this so that people on stable regimes are not forced to change their medication.
