Lyrica Deadly.

Started 2005 600mg of Lyrica for three years asked Dr. to go down to 400mg. 4 weeks ago New Neurologist-Just went down to 200mg now 100mg-going off. Dr. said combination of the other meds I'm on is deadly. You really have to advocate for yourself. Never go to Dr. alone. My seritonin levels were so high it was causing muscle spasms, twitching, jerking, balance issues (all which I was given other drugs to control the symptoms fromLyrica. Every day my mind is clearer. I'm smiling again :)

That's a ten four. always be your own best advocate. Dr general practitioner can't know what you're ferling. And enough of them take shots in the dark. I just find it disgusting that this do c wouldf give you such a wontanly high does of lyrica. It stops pain while allowing muscles and joints to be aggrevated further. i wish someone would listen to patients, besides the pharmaceutical corps.. joke

Yes, unfortunately, we often end up in a vicious cycle of treating the side effects of one medication, with another medication, which also causes side effects, then we add another one....... and so on.

As to the deadliness, not everyone experiences serotonin syndrome, but caution and close monitoring is always the best idea.

I am, however, very glad that you are doing better, Mary Jo! Any progress updates?

As to the dosage, many people used to be given much higher doses of these medications, but thankfully, several years ago, the FDA and DEA did put a stop to that.
