Long Term Side Effects Of Suboxzone

ive been on suboxzone for well over 4 years and have been experiencing not being able to sleep. I will not come to bed i end up sitting upright in a chair all night and waking up every 1-2 hours. Has any one else experienced anything like this while taking suboxzone for a while. Please let me know.

Yes I experience the same effects. I've been on methadone maintainence for about 9 years for heroin addiction. I do the same thing...sitting up all night with fitful sleep.Only recently,since I started a long slow detox, have I been resting for longer periods. I even lay down for a few hours sometimes at night.But what did you expect. When you were in the midst of your opiate addiction you did the same thing between highs didn't you? Suboxone and methadone are just basically pharmacutical opiates. Even with not much sleep I still managed to function well at my job. Thats more than I can say for heroin.

Keith, have you spoken to your doctor about the problem?

Whenever you experience something like this, it is important to get medical advice, to ascertain whether or not it is the medication causing the problem, or something else.

And, of course, for better sleep, the first thing you would need to do is stop sitting up in a chair all night. Whether or not your problem is caused by the medication, sitting up in a chair will never help you get restful sleep.

I have been on methadone maintenance for 7 years, and have been sleeping upright in a chair almost the entire time.If I go to bed, I am right back in the chair within an hour.I get a good nights sleep most of the time.I am 63 years old, and have several friends of all ages doing the same thing. nothing is good quiting cold turkey and the side effects of quiting this way are very similar to quiting opiates cold turkey but alot milder. Why are you wanting to quit so suddenly?

I can not believe I'm reading this! I am absolutely the same way. I've been on it for 4 years as well and I just do not want to lay down in the bed. I will literally sit up in the bed, chair any where.
