The marking will be different from manufacturer to manufacturer, since they all have to use a unique imprint.

What are the markings on the tablets you have?


Some markings include:

M L10

JSP 519

and 3919 V

But this is NOT a complete list, if you post back with the markings on the tablet you are questioning, I will gladly look it up for you!

Why have chemists in u.k. given me two DIFFERENT BRANDS of levothyroxine (I take 125mg daily) EVERY time I get prescription past few years. THEY say its because they have to purchase 'cheapest' drug each week. I DON@T BELIEVE THIS. And stated that in the law of averages - they MUST have one drug company that sells both 100mg and 25mg cheaper than others in SAME WEEK. I believe this is a scam - to prevent anyone sueing the big drug companies - if effected disasterously. WHAT CAN THE COMMON PERSON DO?!

You should NEVER change brands of thyroid medications and shame on your pharmicist be quad they do know better!!

Be your own advocate and demand they leave you on the same brand or change pharmacies. If you need to, get your Dr to help advocate for you.

The reason you don't change brands is simple; every company uses different fillers and those fillers change the way your body absorbs or uses the medication. So on one brand your body may absorb it all but another brand may block absorption.
