Leaving Linzess Out Exposed To Air

Linzess stresses keeping them in their original container with lid tightly closed but it doesn't explain why. Do they go bad or lose their power? I have accidentally left quite a few out in open air. I'd like to know if they're still good because I'd hate to have to throw them away as they are expensive. Anyone know the answer?

After posting the above I was informed that there were no replies so far and I was asked to be more specific. It's quite simple. I left some Linzess out in the open (2 days) and I'd like to know if they are still good. I ask this because the bottle label stresses keeping them in their original container with the lid on tight.

All medications may begin to degrade and lose efficacy, if let out in the open air, according to the FDA, but that generally only applies if it is for a long period of time. It is due to the fact that leaving them out for awhile can leave the medication exposed to heat, light, and moisture, which can all contribute to degradation and loss of efficacy.

Thus, if they were only out for a short period of time, they are fine, but if it has been several weeks, they may no longer be as effective.
