UpdatedI am suffering from hypertension and doctors prescribed me AMLODIPINE 5 mg once a day and BETALOC 25 mg once a day for the last three years. After taking these medicines my weight increased. Could some one tell me 'Is there any side effect by these medicines/

Betaloc contains the active ingredient Metoprolol, both it and the Amlodipine are commonly used to help lower blood pressure.
All medications carry the risk of side effects, the most common for this class of drugs are:
nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and headache.
Weight gain, however, is not a normal side effect of either one.
