i need to know what are the effects of taking oral contraceptives whilst jadelle is inserted on your arm and what are the chances of me getting pregnant with and without the pill?

I have been on the jadelle for 18 months now with regular sometimes extended periods I have had no problems with it, suddenly my jadelle has recently started to hurt and my breasts have doubled in size and I have had no period... Also feeling nautious and tired/emotional the doctors urine test came up negative however I feel these changes are pregnancy what are the chances of this???

Donna, Jadelle is a contraceptive, so you shouldn't take other hormonal based tablets, while it is in and active. That's basically like doubling up on the same medication and it could cause some serious issues.

Obviously, you don't need them both, anyway. One is enough.



Confused, if the doctor's test was negative, then it isn't likely that you're pregnant.

However, the symptoms you're experiencing could be due to the hormones in the Jadelle.

Did they do blood work to test your hormone levels?

Hi no had no blood tests done just a urine in 18months on the jadelle I have had not one pregnancy symptom or problem now I have every symptom but today have started spotting blood, 2 weeks after I was due to have my period. Am on holiday so unfortunately can't get much advice from doctors until I'm home :(
