How Can I Clean Xanax Out Of My System

I have reciently taken a large amount of xanax after abstaining for 4 months. like many I have a drug test coming up. my question is, are there any natural ways to flush it out so the test will be negative?

Benzo's are most certainly stored in fat cells. Just for shorter periods of time than "weed". Do some reading!

Thanks I read your posts, took my test yesterday and got my results today I PASSED. A whole week of pure stress. I worked out, drank at least 2 liters of water a day and kept my diet super healthy.

Took 1mg of xanax Sunday night and have a drug test Tuesday of the next week so thats 9 days in between. I take them very infrequently last time before that was weeks ago and before that time probably a year. Would this be enough time for it to come out of my system completely? Im female 31 and 130lb.

That is correct actually if you take it daily over a long period of time, basically anything over a month or two of daily heavy use then it can take a few weeks to leave your system but if you take it infrequently then it shoulld only take 3/4-7 days depending on the person

As I posted a page or two back, every Benzo is different in terms of half-life. However, you can flush Xanax out of your system in 24-36 hours with drinking a good amount of water before the test and leading up to. As for having it down to a science, if anyone actually wants the information of the pharmacokinetics of Xanax and clearance time, it’s in my first and second post.

I have Benzos down to a science!! So listen closely, i have drug tests every month and i take 3 to 6 1mg blues for a week, then 5 for 2 days, 4 for 2 days, 3 for 2 days, 2 for 2 days and then 1 for the last 2 days... So that leaves me 10 or 11 days depending on the month and i always pass my test and i know they test for it bc i failed my first one, so i figured this system out. Obviously drink lots of water, cranberry juice and workout as much as possible, but I'm 6 foot tall and 235lbs, so on the heavy side. If i can get clean in 10 days this 4 to 6 week s*** is bogus!!!

Ok people, for full disclosure, I am not a medically trained professional but I can offer some advice from personal experience. This method worked for me but I can't promise anyone else the same results. I used to take xanax A LOT! And in extremely high doses. I also had to take drug tests on a regular basis. The method I used was this: drink as much water as you can the day and night before. Nothing else but water. Drink until your urine starts coming out almost completely clear, but don't drink so much that you get water sick. That can be dangerous. Once your urine is clear, keep drinking at a reasonable pace and amount. You should try to drink enough so that you urinate clear at least 4 or 5 times before you go to sleep. When you wake the next day urinate until your bladder is completely emptied. You should notice the color will be darker again. Don't panic. Now start the water drinking process again. I recommend 2 16 Oz bottles at a time. Chug half of 1 bottle and wait about 5 minutes, then chug the rest. Do this for both bottles. Wait 20 minutes and then repeat the process. Do this until you have to take your urine test. You should urinate at least 4 times before taking the test. If this 2 day process is not possible and you have to take the urine test on the same day, then I recommend using the 2 bottle and urinating method for as long as possible before taking the test. The object is to flush your bladder as much as possible to remove as much residual drug content as possible and give the test cup what is essentially water that has ran through your bladder. I can't guarantee this method will work for you but it worked for me. Just remember that the object is to flush and pee as many times as possible before taking the test. Try not to pee in the test cup until you've peed at least 3 times and don't pee in the cup at the start of your urination. Give the test cup the middle of your urination. They may say it's a diluted sample and make you pee again but they usually won't fail you for it. Just say "hey, I only drink water". Anyway, this is just my method. I hope it works for you. Just remember that this is not medical advice from a professional.

Read my post #129 for detailed information. Although, my posts after that are also worth reading.

The takeaway: Drink lots of water before the drug test and pee as much as possible and you have a *good* chance of passing. There’s a bit of scholarly research that suggests that smoking can increase the metabolism of the drug by a significant amount. However I would caution that for the most part the studies I followed up on were inconclusive.

*Another caveat: While you have a good chance of passing, it’s important to keep in mind that everyone’s metabolism is different. Drink a lot of water (within reason), urinate as much as possible before the test and you should be fine. Best of luck.

I have been taking xanax since Monday. Dr discontinued the xanax in february but i still had some left. My daughter had surgery and i was a nervous wreck so i started taking the ones i hsd left on Monday. This Wed May 2nd my appt comes up and i know he will drug test me again. I am worried about if the xanax will show up 5 days later? And is there anything i can do to rid it out of my urine?

I take xanax and stop taking it three days before my weekly urine test. I am on methadone and It hasn't been detected yet. So I'm not sure where the 6 week thing is coming in.

Exactly I didn't do any for a year and here lately I would take a couple once a week..like 3 days before my test after taking it I drink plenty of water took it on 15th and 18th it was gone.it varies for different people it effects ppl different like for non chronic users 1-3 days for chronic users up too 6 weeks. So if ur not a heavy user drink water night before and that morning and you might be ok ..I can't promise it cuz like I said it does ppl different

I did pass. My urine was diluted slightly by urinating before the test and drinking about 4 glasses of water before going in. In short, it’s very possible to pass a drug test for Xanax after ~30 hours.

It’s not something that I would recommend on doing as it’s stressful and everyone metabolizes things at different rates. However there is hope for anyone who is concerned about having a short testing window.

—this thread has been going on forever, and it contains a lot of misinformation. Likewise there is a lot of wrong information online for the sole purpose of selling you a product, including rehab services.

I will say for a fact that it does not take 6 weeks to pass a drug test for Xanax. The average half life of the drug is 12 hours (anywhere between 6 to 18 hours in healthy adults) this means the amount of the drug cuts in half in that amount of time, every time. Likewise a lot of people simply don’t understand how a drug test works or the math behind it. I will elaborate a little below:

One 2mg Xanax bar is 2,000,000 nanograms.

First and foremost I will explain dosage and cutoff limits. The standard cutoff for benzos is about 300ng/ml....meaning that’s how many nanograms that would have to be present in 1 milliliter of urine for you to test positive for the drug.

Now for an example: Let’s assume “Joe” takes one 2mg Xanax bar and had a drug test in 50 hours. Let us also assume that he doesn’t take anymore between that window. Using the standard 12 hour half life, you first should convert the dosage to nanograms: 2mg now becomes 2,000,000 nanograms. I’m typing this on my phone so I’ll convert after the math.

Now for the math: 2mg/2 = 1 mg/2 =.5mg/2=.25mg/2=.125mg

So you now have 125,000 nanograms of the drug in your body to be processed by your liver and extricated through your urine. This part is tricky because it depends on when he last urinated before he took the test. I made his time-frame 50 hours for simplicity of this scenario, so let’s assume he urinated at the 48 hour mark and drank 10 ounces of water which is ~300 milliliters so he could urinate for the test. Now let’s assume he took his test exactly at the 50 hour mark. Your body is constantly eliminating the drug from your body, it just doesn’t magically cut in half every half-life, let’s assume for simplicity that the rate it does it per hour is constant (it’s not)...

Remember, there’s a total of 125,000 ng left in his body, his urine has had 2 hours to eliminate some of that, so take the 12 hour half-life and divide it by the 2 hours since he last urinated (which is 6) and now divide the amount of the drug he should have left in his body (125,000ng) by that number (6) which is approximately 20,833 nanograms to be extricated when he urinates for the test. Remember the threshold for a positive result in this example is 300ng/ml, let’s assume he managed to piss out all 10 ounces (300ml) for the test

So you need to divide the amount of the drug he’s urinating by the amount of liquid he’s urinating to get the answer, so 20,833ng/300ml is 69ng/ml. He passes his drug test. As you can see, there is a lot of variables (the amount of drug that’s in his body, the amount of time that’s passed since the last dose+ whatever was still in his body before the last dose, how much he urinated, when he urinated last before he took the drug test....etc....) this is also why the dilution method actually “works” to “pass” a drug test because you’re increasing the frequency between urinations and the amount that you’re urinating each time. Of course the caveat there is the lab can deem the test null and have you retake it under suspicion that you intentionally diluted your urine (at least that gives you more time though.) There are other variables to be considered, such as Xanax is fat soluble and a very small amount can be retained in fat cells, but that wouldn’t be an issue on a single time use and then you would have to figure out the individuals metabolic rate and approximately how much of the drug is being released from burned fat...even then the amount would be pretty minuscule to factor in compared to the amount actively in the persons bloodstream. The explanation above is as simple as I personally think the subject can be elaborated so the majority of readers should be able to understand and apply it to their knowledge.

I took a 2mg bar approximately 4 am on a Sunday morning, I had my drug test around 1 pm Monday. Mathematically, I have a chance of passing. I will post the results when I hear back.
