YYYAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!! I sooo agree!! If there are soldiers out there hurting and they need pain meds, they should be given as many and as often as they ask!!!! U GUYS ROCK THE WORLD AND DESERVE TO BE SURROUNDED BY NEVER ENDING LOVE AND CARE!!!! Im sick also and pain is a never ending companion!! Ive tried them all and while oxys -n-k-8's feel GREAT! they have a....failing!!! I used to wake up in the am crying like a baby, would sit rocking thinking "they'll work in bout 15 min.!!!" found the answer tho!!! Duragesic patches!!! but sometimes I can forget for awhile that my life is controlled by pain!!

Don't forget to ask about ZoHydro. Even with the new formulation that sort of mimics OP80, it is ridiculously powerful even though it's hydrocodone rather than oxycodone ER. Obviously Roxicodone is the premiere killer of pain but it's also a flag when requested by a patient that abuse is a high possibility.

Seriously though, inquire about ZoHydro, it may give you some of your life back.

If you were chewing your medication, then you were tampering with it, which is considered abusing. So don't blame street junkies, blame yourself. You're doing exactly what "street junkies" did and you have yourself to blame. Or, hey, maybe blame the pharmaceutical companies who created a new generation of addicts, who then became street junkies. Just because you're prescribed it doesn't mean you can tamper with it and abuse it and blame those who aren't prescribed.

One Marin to another; Suck it up - you chose to join the military. YOU fell; it's unfortunate but the junkies didn't do that to you. The instant release form is still legal in all 50 states so if you want them talk to a doctor, and i dont mean the free one you get through veterans affairs get one that actually cares, and if you do have a "good" doctor and he won't prescribe them to you then he probably doesn't trust you and that's probably based on some untrustworthy behavior you've previously exhibited with your meds.
People like you are always quick to poibt fingers when the only one to blame is yourself.

I agree! I have a twisted spine causing a radicalapathy at T-10,T-11. Inoperable because its right behind my heart. The oc's worked great. The op's suck and now im up to 120gm/day and still have to lay on icepacks 12 hrs/daily! These frikken drug addicts have ruined my life. Im only 58 and cant function at all! Thanks to loser drug addicts I and several of my friends have to live in unbearable pain forever! No one knows back pain until you have an inoperable injury. All my new friends are back pain victims. We stick together like magnets!

Wonderful reply. To the original poster, thank you for serving country, it is greatly appreciated. But addiction is a disease, and people that suffer from it are not all "junkies on the street". They have jobs, they are doctors, lawyers, busines owners, anything, and you would NEVER know the struggle behind their outside appearance. Most people with addiction peoblems are not as you call it "junkies on the street". And I validate your pain, yet you were not even using your OxyContin as prescribed which is one thing "junkies" do (not calling you a junkie or an addict), and that is very dangerous with this drug! You're getting a huge dose of oxycodone at once. So you are part of the reason for the reformulation. Think it through, rather than chewing your medication which is for all day pain control, talk to your doctor about your worsening pain about something for breakthrough pain. And if you had done that, or were afraid to for some reason, maybe there was a reason that the doctor had reason to fear giving you more opiates?? I don't know the situation, if you talked to your doctor or not, but I don't think that your doctor would feel too comfortable giving you break through meds, if you had told him you were chewing your OxyContin. Just a thought. Once again, I don't know the situation. But I am thanking the person I am responding to for bringing this up, because that was not ok. "Junkie" is a very demeaning word, people suffering from addiction hurt and go through a lot of pain and suffering, and they DO GET CLEAN AND SOBER! The change in this formulation was not all about the "Street junkies". And remember, your actions were just the same as theirs. I hope you find a better pain regimen, and once again thank you for your service to our country. And I just wanted to respond to this poster, because he brought up necessary information.

It is getting hard to get my meds. Been on them for years and on 30 Roxie's 4 a day but l take all 4 at once in the morning because that is the worst time. I get up 4/5 times a night to move around, have a smoke, whatever, mostly pace, but I still have too much time laying there maybe sleeping maybe thinking about how I got here. Unfortunately I'm not here from the war but I have saved a few people with my fighting skills and my desire to be a tough guy so I try to look at it that I'm not this f***ed up because I was a a**hole, I'm this f***ed up because of the attitude I had which saved some people young and old and I can be proud of that because it was the toughest fight I ever had. I use to always carry a weapon but not that day. I am a mixed martial artist and fought golden gloves but I never gave it my all or what it needed to be good at the sports involved in mma. That is a tough sport and I wasn't tough enough. I cold win fights on the bats easy and made decent money when guys would come in from out of town. But I got hurt at every fight and broke a finger, wrist, toe, ankle. Just let it heal for a week or two and go back to fighting but I would do some golden glove bouts, that was my plan to heal my wounds but in my late 20's I was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease and there was nothing they could do for it back then.

So I continued fighting and started rupturing discs and now all of them are bad in one form or another including 2 in my neck that hurt the worst. My sciatica gets pretty bad when my legs are in so much pain I can't walk but my neck gets more painful. 10 30 will help my sciatica but won't touch my neck. 300 ml won't touch it. They tried shots but that made the issue worse and they were going to pull my script because I wouldn't do anymore shots. I need stronger ones. I tell you every month that I run out half way through the month they know I prob need 80 / 4 Anaya plus 60 / time release / 3 times a day. 30 and 20 aren't working. 30 in the morning when I take 4 helps me get up and get moving and two 4 times a day works for my back unless something happens. But the 20's do absolutely nothing for me.

This is old but I wanted to say you are so right. They are for chronic pain not breakthrough pain and instead of him passing judgement and blaming what he calls junkies he needs to realize chewing them is abusing them and the is part to blame for the switch. I do thank you sir for your service though and I am really sorry about your injury.
