How Long Does Hydrocodone Stay In Your System (Top voted first)

Hello, how long does Hydrocodone stay in the urine? I have a prescription for 10 mg - 650 mg Oxycodone/APAP. I took 1/8 of one pill due to pain I had in my back. Twenty hours later I had a random drug test by my company. Will it still be detected? Thank you.

Took 35mg hydrocodone/asap this evening at 9pm because I felt like my back was going to break into. It is 10:26 and still hard to walk, but at least now the spasms have let up. My question is how long will this be in my system? I do not plan to take anymore, mostly because they are just too ineffective at a lower dose. I am curious how long it can be detected in my urine?? If anyone has any idea. thanks.

I took a hydrocodone/acephetamine 5-500mg. I just took one on Monday at roughly 9am. I had to take a urine test on Tuesday at 1:30pm. Will this show up on my test? And is that Vicodin or lortab???

they will be out of your system in 48-72 hours regardless. If they don't work you need to tell your doctor, sounds to me like you need a muscle relaxer for your spasms

I am taking Hydrocodone for pain, prescribed by my doctor. I was given a urine test at my last visit, and it showed no hydrocodone in my system. They reported me for possible non compliance. I did not take one on the day i went, because it is a 2 hour drive, but I am sure that i took one the day before, is it normal to not show up that quick? I swear I take them, they did not tell me that I had to take them every day, script says every 6 hours for pain as needed. I take them as a last resort, because they sometimes make me feel sick.

35mg hydrocodone/APAP sounds like Vicoden generic, which would be 7 pills, which = 35mg/3500mgAPAP. First, you keep taking 3500mg of APAP you will have liver failure. 35mg of hydrocodone metabolizes at a half life of 3.8 hours. You figure it out. 35 mg after 3.8 hrs after administration you will have 17.5mg in your system, another 3.8 hours you will have 8.75mg and will do it one more time for you. In another 3.8 hours you will have 4.375, slightly less than one Vicoden. That is hydrocodone, not the metabolites of hydrocodone.

By the way...who is "they" that are reporting you? And who are "they" reporting you to? "They" would be out of line to say you are non-compliant if the script is "as needed" or "PRN" which it most likely is.

It will show on the test that to much is in your system. Its really depending on the kind of test they use st your doctor. Good luck!

Doesn't matter if you have a prescription for it..how much do you really take..normally like 72 hours for up ti even 5 tens a day

They do this to make sure you aren't giving them to someone else or selling them. If you are taking even one every couple of days you should have some detectable level in your system. If you aren't taking them any more than that they won't re-fill them as quickly and will give you less. They shouldn't require you to take more than you need. You are the only one who knows what your body needs -- which is likely different from one day to the next. There are blood tests they can do to see ( and this is putting it in very simple terms, so it isnt EXACTLY what happens, ,but close) what your average or typical use is over time. If you're out of pills and your typical use doesn't support that, you're done.

You do not have to take any medication you do not want to, or you can take less than prescribed. You don't like a way a med makes you feel is just fine for a reason none is in your system. You can also have a full or 1/2 filled or empty bottle, as long as if the maximum prescribed sig (instructions) would have emptied it. Only a Court can and rarely does, force you to take a med.

Thank you very much for that, as i do not like to take them, i have been wondering if i should stop for a while, i do not want other problems to start from taking this med, I have been occasionaly getting pain in stomache, that i attribute to medication. But since doc said i might not be in compliance, been kinda afraid to stop.

I know this thread is kind of old, but I was just wondering, on average, how long hydrocodone stays in your system? I had taken about 3-4 a day for quite some time then had stopped because I didn't like how they were making me feel.. I last took them on Wednesday (4/11) and had a random urine test on Monday(4/16). I am just curious to know if the hydrocodone would have been detected in my urine still (5 dys later) ?

its actually my question, it is the workmans comp doctors, That reported to the insurance company that i might not be in compliance, so the doc did a second test and said i was fine. but my first question to my doc, was does the medicine say as needed for pain, or am i reading it wrong, so do i have to take the medicine every 6 hours whether i need it or not, because it does say as needed, and he did not answer me he just said we can resolve it right now, just take a urine test. so for now it is resolved, but I dont think it is right, that I have to take it even if i dont want to, but it is resolved.

I am going to the doctor to get a refill on my percription but I think he going to drug test me to see if they or in my system what do i need to do. because I don't have any in my system right now but need to have something in my system. I am going to see him on Friday @ 1:30 pm If I take a couple of 10s will that help I can get some tens but I take 7.5s
