First Week ...what Went Down Then Came Up!

I have been on Contrave for 7 days with a lot of nausea. While I lost 5 lbs by day 6, I have thrown up 4 out of 7 days! I've recreated the meals I ate on days I kept food down but that wasn't a guarantee I would not get sick. I got vertigo two weeks before I started Contrave so I had been using a motion sickness prescription patch. Others mentioned dramamine, bonine and ginger - still no guarantee on keeping the nausea in check. I will say when I put a new patch on at night, the next day usually prevented vomiting. But...it is not good to stay on those motion sickness meds so I stopped today. I will try an otc oil. I am hoping the severity of the nausea and vomiting was due to vertigo but as only day one is bad for me with vertigo, I'm not sure if I'm being overly hopeful.
Anyone in the same boat?
Or should I just expect three more weeks like this?
Any tips or tricks from the longer term users?

Contrave can cause that as a side effect, in some people that take it. As listed by the FDA, you may also experience dizziness, headache, stomach pain and insomnia. However, the side effects should improve, after about 4 to 5 weeks, once your body gets used to the medication.

If they don't improve or if they worsen, you should consult your doctor.

Can anyone that's been on it chime in?

I had a terrible time with many of the side effects of Contrave but because it was a slam-dunk on curbing my insatiable hunger I decided to try and work through them - but went up more slowly (per my doctors suggestion). So you might ask your doctor about going slower -- but the nausea was probably the worst -- and the anti nausea medication did not help and it seemed independent of what I ate --- so if you are liking the positive effects of the drug, hang in to see when they abate..... I am up to four pills a day - with some fuzziness and sleepiness still in tow but in general gone... I hope it is going better for you!

I stopped the meds 4 days after my post and still have side effects. I lost 6 pounds but was a mess. I pretty much slept and threw up and lived on dramamine and patches. I really wanted to hang on to see if four weeks on meant symptoms gone but I couldn't do it. I found myself thirsty and yet couldn't keep water down. I ate ice chips for two days. I wish those on the med the best of luck. I have 25 lbs to lose so I will use the 6 as a boost and try weight watchers.
