Drug Addicts And Those Who Divert Cii's

Updated

The addicts, and the one's who get them may not use them. Some people charge 1 dollar for every milligram. 90.00 bucks or more can be fetched per 80 mg oxys. The math is simple. 1 hundred oxy's 80's offers those in need badly so will cough up 8,000.00 or more for a H addict out of their potentially mortality of hell to not die of SEVERE WITHDRAW. These ultra powerful, CII'S put YOUR life in danger.

@kim,

You have a good point about how much the black market is profiting off these controlled substances. And the dangers of using them out of control can easily put your life at risk. One might ask, well what can we do about all of this? The police force can only handle so much and they only snag a few low level dealers as it is, leaving the big crooks untouched because they're so high up in the hierarchy and never stay in one place long enough to be noticed. This leaves the only type of resistance in the hands of those patients who should ideally be getting their meds from a licensed physician.

But with doctors now-a-days being so reluctant to hand out things like oxycodone, what choice does this leave someone who's been taking it for years and suddenly gets cut off? They either become dope sick or search for a fix illegally. And maybe this is where other treatment modalities need to come into play. The question is what alternative options are there for a withdrawal fix when you're faced with doctors who constantly turn you down? Do you opt for a natural remedy or something over-the-counter?

Just say: maybe.... Pain is subjective, so is anxiety. Sleep is the best medicine. Psychosomatic pain and resulting depression is common. Don't take opiates unless you have no choice. Exercise and diet is healthy.

RE: Each state has it's own data base. It should be linked to a system that discouraqges state hopping. In a way it is like oh say, trying to take recycling to a state who's recycling value is much higher. The problem is, profit. Rx's are a legal product. Using the USPS ,FedEx, or UPS is now legal. Cannabis is a high margin profit index. I wouldn't support it in California.

Thank you for the feedback in post #2! I was also leaning towards thoughts of exercise, diet, adequate sleep, and maintaining a sound mind as potential alternative or synergistic treatment modalities. A lot of chronic pain patients would probably say otherwise, and to a large extent I agree that it's not easy to do these otherwise simple tasks when you're experiencing an outburst of intense pain ALL OF THE TIME. However, it does seem to me (from personal experiences) that certain patients might be able to cut their doses down gradually overtime while implementing alternative measures for managing their pain without upping their consumption of potentially dangerous narcotic analgesics in the long haul.

Regarding your mention of cannabis, I for one am a supporter of marijuana, in any State. Not looking at the profit margins, but more importantly (in my opinion) the implications it stands for as an alternative treatment to many ailments. I've witnessed enough pain patients who've gone through spinal surgery due to degenerative disc disease implement cannabis into their regimen, only to find themselves taking half the amount of "Oxycodone-level" pain relievers they're prescribed - a type of drug that presents much more of a risk in my opinion. Having said that, I believe cannabis legalization in every State can potentially help offset drug overdoses/abuse from many pharmaceuticals.
