Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 244)

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

Rainbow, I'm sorry you're going through a big change for sure. I'm going through some big life changes too as far as that goes. It's a big savings Rain, that's why I thought about you. Well that and you've been on here forever and you know Wendy. 200mo is a lot of money especially when you're single with kids at home. Heck it's a good amount of money no matter what. Jessy, I know you'll be very pleased. Let us know how it goes.

Confused im friends wit 1 of tha ladies that works there so I kinda get sum info and they will either call u or after tha appt they wil tel u a day wen to come back so they can count them they are very good at that office wen it comes to drug seekers I have been on pm since 1999 they have all my records but it has nt happen to me but I have seen them do it and tha patient was fired immediately without question

Rainbow: Thanks so much... he is the kindest doctor, and I don't want to mess anything up, as my pain impacts my life on a daily basis. I have never been to pm where my pills were counted, although I have read about it online.
You have been so helpful to me... I am sorry that your life isn't all "rainbows and flowers" right now... hopefully soon all will be sorted out for you.

Tremochrist ,he will go by what works for u ..Doctors have to follow dea protocol .He will try other meds if your don't help .He listen you can't go in with shopping list .I'm on 40 er twice day 120 dulids I get weekly Demerol shots .I was with him 11 years than his clinic stop doing pain patients.This is a pain management clinic they do X-ray's there labs etc .If u want a good doctor that takes medicade.

Wendy, LOL...I am definitely not rich...I am disabled, and will think about it. I just switched docs, from CPR, so am scared to make another move so soon. Will look like doctor shopping to some.

Everybody, if you have Medicaid you should meet with Wendy. She is super caring and wants to help. And her doctor is amazing. I'm so happy now!!! Wendy is the sweetest!!

I'm so happy you are in good hands Wendy I won't be able to pay so I guess i just stay with my doc I hope you are fling a lil better I have no way to get to cry I live my st Luke's hospital I can't walk far one bus it crap is kinda far to me but I'll find a way and stick it out I just love how your helping so many your truly a blessing og wendy and for you all I hope your filling better I'll pray that we all stay in good spirits.this forum is a blessing to me .great advice and ppl that care so much .

Jessy: Thanks... I would be interested as well to hear if you are kept on the dosages of medication that have worked for you in the past or the levels you request. I have been reading that many doctors are lowering the doses of new patients.

JESSY--------Thank you for letting me know how you're appointment goes. What day are is your appointment? Im curious as to how the DR is towards his patients. If I remember correctly, WENDY said he treats you well and not judgemental. I'm so tired of ppl looking down at you because the meds.Im also curious if meds will stay the same or if they get changed. I'm meeting WENDY monday.

123DIY, YES, he had his appt today and we were both floored. They offer a full array of services of medicaid patients including prescriptions, physical therapy, chiropractic, injections and adjustments. But that wasn't even the highlight. The highlight was two fold. One, the doc is very knowledgeable in the field of pain mgmt. Most docs are not. Therefore, the interaction is inclusive of a patient and a family member. He wasn't made to feel like a drug addiction. And the 2nd point is that he said something I've never ever heard out of a pm's mouth and that was we're going to work to get "you fixed". What? Fixed? Yup, we were floored. He immediately gave my hubby 2 shots in his lower back that immediately made his back feel better. He'll be seen 2x/wk for the next 4wks so he can receive injections and physical therapy. They also have a hertz machine. For ppl that don't know about this it's awesome piece of equipment that I've primarily seen for athletes. It breaks down the lactic acid buildup in muscles and dispenses throughout the body so those deep muscle aches aren't as bad or as long. It's a great machine. I used it when I played football. It's like a grounding machine for the body and a tension reliever. Just what we all need after weeks of w/d and unbelievable pain and stress! He did strike me as the detective and diagnosed hubby to a F'n Tee even on the things we didn't share. I was sold on this man and the practice. It's new but he's been around a long time. Also, he's very adept on the new medicaid laws. He's compliant and has a dea agent on premises. It's a tight ship and for those that have been on medicaid you know what we've had to deal with. Docs that don't even do an exam, spend less than 10 minutes with you, treat you like a drug user and cash cow and so much more. All the services he performs are COVERED by medicaid even the x-rays which he did there. I can't say enough. Hubby will sleep tonight for the 1st time in 4wks. Huge relief. Best decision ever and Wendy, you're are the sweetest for looking out for ppl and putting up with the comments. Think about the savings ppl every month. Christmas is here and my oldest son turns 18 next week! Hope everyone is doing better today.

Good to hear Phoenix was he able to say on the pain meds he was on with his last doctor or is he only getting the injections? I wld talk wit Wendy but rite now I dn have the xtra rite now to meevwit her but I'm goin to talk with Dr Lincoln and see if I come across this good lead I got if it wld be considered Dr shopping since I'm on Medicaid cuz no they went up 2 $175 and idk wat to do
