Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 174)

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!
No Rainbow it's cash, labs are covered by medicaid.
Rainbow...saw your name as we signed it. Wished we didnt miss you. The gentleman you saw left a little after we got there. Not sure who he is.
Who started the rumor they were closed for the week? They answer the phones themselves so if they are with pts..they can't answer. Please be careful.. rumors like that can greatly excacerbate the stress chronic pain pts experience 24/7.
So CPR Takes medicaid now
Skeptix....I signed it immediately. What else can I do?
Hey screw u , I work all my life as a RN until I got my nursing taking away because of seizures. And another thing Mr know all people that are really sick can't get regular insurance like me know one wants to cover someone dying .So the government u say that helps lazy people not u working people .Sorry your not TERMINAL so u get free insurance think before u speak .
That figures. Those of us who work, don't rely on the government, and have insurance, typically get screwed.
NEW GIRL, you must have a primary care physician, if you do, you can go to COLORADO PAIN RELIEF. They are a cash clinic. But know in advance that they will need your medical records, they will give you a drug panel. If you fail you do not get your money back and you do not get your medication. They are nice but strict, play by their rules and you should be fine.
Yes, CPR is offering genetic testing to their patients. To people on Medicaid it is completely free, but for people who work for a living it costs $250.
NewGirl... I'm certainly not the expert here, but you might try Colorado Pain Relief.
Fuzzy... I can never find where to do that while I'm using my phone, but I will def exchange when I get on my laptop!! It might be tomorrow, though, ... Bathing kids, etc right now :)
Skeptic thanks for the DORA info, I will keep that for future use.
Mtn girl I believe it was Synergistik although he did not put the name of the cream out there but told Rainbow to ask about it at her next visit. I would like to try it also.
Hi there ! I am new to this area and don't have insurance yet and I haven't been able to get my meds. What would you recommend I do?
I apologize, but I cannot remember who got the pain cream from Mr. S.... I haven't had my script filled... Just wondering if it works? Copay? It LOOKS like a great compound. Thanks in advance!!

CO Susie is actually heading up this pain patient petition at the moment. She knows more than I do. The petition itself is on this forum post # 1937. Please check it out and sign if it feels right.
Thanks
Sleptic,
Thanks for the info on the medical personnel.
I would have answered sooner, but had to take a trip to the doctor for blood work.

I like the way you think. There isn't any good reason that we don't do it for all 50 states. We could develop them for all, and ask everyone on Medschat to sign the appropriate state.
I know Marianne spent some time developing it, but as she did the ground work, she can fill us in on any pitfalls or hang ups that she ran into. So it should be smoother sailing for us.
I wasn't sure if a petition would do any good, but we have to do something. It seems as if daily, we the chronic ill are being pushed into a worse position. I'm afraid that by this time next year, we won't be able to get medical care, and most certainly won't be able to get our medications. The "war of drugs" will still be useless and we will be callateral damage.
Hi Skeptic, what is this petition for?
Thanks
CO Susie
Thanks for asking to send this petition to Colorado people. Actually maybe it should go to all fifty Governors and ask pain patients in all fifty states to sign? We're all in this together. Some states likes ours are just the starting points. Florida is suffering too I've been told.
Everyone,
Below is the link to Colorado's Department of Regulatory Agencies DORA and their License Lookup form. This is PUBLIC information so don't be afraid to use it. You have the right to know about malpractice, medical board sanctions and more. You'll see any Colorado-based actions taken against your Doctor (Medical MD), Physician Assistant (Medical PA) or Nurse Practioner (Nurse AP). The codes you need for the form are in ( ) above. Information sometimes lags behind by a week or so but is otherwise very current and informative. When info appears, click blue Details link next to doctor's name. Scroll down to form.
