Hi. I've been taking Cymbalta (60mg) for fibromalgyia for a few years. I've tried to get off of it twice. The first time I just stopped, not knowing that doing so would come with such consequences! I had no idea that there would be withdrawals, and such terrible ones at that. The second time I did it with a weaning off schedule from my doctor (which I've since forgotten). Even doing the weaning schedule given to me, the side effects of withdrawal ended up being more than I could take. When I was over the toilet, puking, and rationally thinking how it would be the best idea for everyone if I just killed myself, I knew I wasn't strong enough to go through the withdrawal process. So here I am, over a year later since my last attempt to get off it, and I'm so over being ...

I was given 10 mg of Metoclopram to counteract the severe nausea from getting off Cymbolta. Now I have severe dizziness. Is there anything I can do to stop the dizziness? I've been off cymbolta 6 days (20mg). How long will the headaches and nausea last? ## As to the effects of stopping the Cymbalta, if you were taking it for a long time, then it may take a month or more for them to wear off. Ideally, these medications should be slowly tapered, to prevent the worst of these effects. Learn more Cymbalta details here. And the dizziness from the Metoclopramide can take about that long to wear off, as your body gets used to it, too. Learn more Metoclopramide details here. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thanks for the information. I was only on Cymbolta 7 weeks (20 mg) and the...

I'm taking Cymbalta for pain and just wanted to know if anyone knows how dangerous it is to take this medication when your not depressed? Is there some long term affect? I can't seem to find information on this. It makes me nervous that it will affect me down the line. ## The risks/dangers would be the same, regardless of what you are taking it for and it may cause side effects such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and weight changes. You can learn more here: Have you discussed your concerns with your doctor? ## Thanks for the information I will take a look at the link. Yes, I did give my concerns to my doctor but he said to wait until I see him to discuss and to continue on taking the medication. I really want an answer now so I am doing my own research. Thanks again for respon...

So I found a dark blue capsule with a very thin white line around the middle. It was in my Cymbalta bottle so I'm sure it was a mistake. It sounds like cymbalta when I shake it, like it has powder in it. My cymbaltas are white on one side and the same dark blue on the other side, but this was just all dark blue with a thin white line around the middle. ## Are there any markings on the capsule? The imprint code is what would enable us to to identify it for you. There are no Cymbalta capsules that meet that description, but it is impossible to tell what it is, just from the color. If it has the marking 6mg on it, then it is a 6mg Zanaflex capsule, which is a muscle relaxant. Regardless of what it is, you do need to report the error to the pharmacy, because they need to be more careful...

I have been taking 10mg hydrocodone for about 3 years for back pain and all of the sudden my doc up an quit practicing. The new doc that I went to see tells me that I am taking the wrong meds for chronic pain and put me on 30 mg cymbalta daily. So I'm just wondering if anyone has had success with cymbalta for back pain? I am also not depressed by the way. Today was my first dose and I feel kind of hyper in a way I guess. Lots of energy. ## The relevant question is, what's causing your back pain? And proper treatment really depends on the answer. For instance, if it's nerve pain, due to pinched nerves in discs or something similar, then yes, Cymbalta may help. Learn more Cymbalta details here. However, if it's due to something else, such as an injury, then it isn't li...

I have been on 60mg of Cymbalta for about a year now. My Doctor gave me starter pack of Vybrid. Her instructions were to stop Cymbalta and start with 10mg Vybrid for two weeks and then go to 20 and stay on that amount. However after four days of Vybrid, 10mg I was dizzy as hell and disoriented. I have been reading other people's stories about weaning off cymbalta while taking Vibryd. Is this ok? My doc doesn't seem to know and we don 't have any psychiatrists around here. So if you are someone who has a good doc, and put you on Vybrid and you were on Cymbalta, Please, please tell me how you are doing this transistion. The reason for stopping cymbalta is because my doc thinks it's messing with my norepinephrine too much, causing rage and irritation. ## I was on Cymbalta a...

So we got on the computer and read up on it. OMG, this is horrible. Why would doctors even prescribe this to patients??? I woke up this morning feeling kinda bad. Really shaky and feeling sick to my stomach. Is this already side effects from this? And someone PLEASE tell me should I keep taking it??? ## I have been suffering with pain from bulging disks for 3 years with some stenosis, and throbbing down my arms. Hi, i've been on Cymbalta for 4 days now. My skin is very itchy and my hand are very dry. Could this be a side effect? ## It could be an alllergic reaction, your best bet is to consult with your doctor, if you are having a reaction to this med, there are other alternatives that you can try. ## Hi Cindy, This does sound like an allergic reaction, I recomend calling you'r Dr. I just started Cymbalta, today will be my 3rd day, my Dr. said that it helps with diabetic pain,(which I have) and I would feel it working within 5-7 days. If you just started this and the itching is unbareable, go see the doc. Good luck 2 u. Why would I need an ER for leg tightness caused by side effects of Cymbalta? ## I am not sure I'm understanding your question, do you mean you had to go to the ER for it? Have you spoken to your doctor? The Duloxetine in Cymbalta shouldn't be causing such symptoms, so it may not be the right medication for you to take.

My wife and I are prescribed 60 mg cymbalta 1 time per day. Unfortunately we have an income of 1200.00 per moth and cannot afford to get our scripts filled as it would cost us over 300.00. Our doctor suggested we contact the manufacture Libby, as he has given both of us sample packs and hasnt gotten enough to give us more. He said that Libby can help us get the scripts filled sometimes in cases like ours whnen we dont have the money to pay for them. It has been the best medicine for depression both if us have ever taken. We have been off of it now for over a week and we both are becoming depressed again. We need help to get this medication as soon as possible. If there is anyone who can help us please reply to this post. Thank you for your help. ## Hi Matthew! The manufacturer is actual...

does anyone know where to get cymbalta coupons? ## If you don't have prescription coverage and meet the income guidelines, the manufacturer does have an assistance program for Cymbalta. You can contact them for more information and an application by calling 800-545-6962 Is there anything else I can help with? ## There are certain prescription drug cards sites that offer free discount cards. Sometimes the savings can be quite substantial. RxFreeCard.com and MyMedsSavingsCard.com are two that offer really good discounts. They're easy to use all you have to do is print the card out. Both of those cards are accepted at most major pharmacies. Good luck!

had surgery to my knee and had to stop taking now I feel nauseous and with palpitions is it from the withdraw ## Have you consulted your doctor? Cymbalta contains the active ingredient Duloxetine, it is an SRNI antidepressant and yes, it can cause some symptoms such as this is, if it is suddenly withdrawn, rather than tapered. But you should check with your doctor to be certain of what's causing the symptoms. Learn more:

Cymbalta is the drug from hell as far as I am concerned. I spent almost a year and 4 failed attempts trying to get off it. It was prescribed for a pain I was having and it didn't even help with that. I was at my wits end until my G.I. specialist recommened I see a psychiatrist really trained well in Psychopharmacology. I am now making headway but I will not consider it over until I am off with no side effects. I would join any class action law suit if one was formed. I had many bad side effects. Relative to the bad taste, I felt like a dump truck emptied its contents in my mouth. ## Cymbalta contains the active ingredient Duloxetine, which is an SNRI antidepressant, this class of medications can sometimes help with certain types of nerve pain. AS of yet, I know of no class action su...

I have been on 60mg of Cymgen and 10mg of Trepeline for 3 months now. My water retention has gone through the roof and I have picked up 8kgs over the last three months despite following a controlled diet and exercise routine. Is this normal? ## it is the trepeline that cause the water retention and not cymbalta,I am on cymbalta for 2 years now and lost 8ks ## Actually, it could be either one of the medications, or maybe the combo of taking both. They have both been known to cause it in a small percentage of the people that take them. Have you consulted your doctor? Edema can be a dangerous condition, if left to continue out of control, so you may need to switch to other medications, or adjust these ones.

i have been using topomax since november 2010 for neuropathy pain. i had the typical side affects of facial numbness, tingling, flat taste of any carbonated drink and the best of all side effect was my 32 lb. weight loss and counting. since then i have been prescribed the medicine for bipolar along with cymbalta which also works great for my neuropothy. these two medications together seem to be the best cocktail for my pain and my bipolar. i have been on many different meds. in my adult life and none of them have given me the results that these two have. so for those of you that are thinking of getting off of topomax before you allow the side effects to go away, i would suggest that you at least hang in there for a few weeks to see if the good results outweigh the bad side effects. i al...

it made me sick as a dog! dehydration & the trots for 3 days but after the discomfort went away i did feel a little better. was it the drug or just feeling better because the trots went away ? ## What specific drug are you talking about? There are several that start with Cym, so I can't help you with any information, without knowing more details. Was it Cymbalta? ## Verwon: That happened to my when I tried Cymbalta. The 'trots', I mean. Ha! Also, had a terrible headache, not good. I've been getting energy healings. I don't care if it is a placebo effect or not, its working.

My dr. Put me on cymbalta for severe stress and anxiety. I took 1 pill last night and was fine till this morning. I woke up all shaky and a little nausea. Im fine mostly when im laying down but when i sit up i get hot, nauseated, shaky, and increased heartbeat. Anyone else experienced this? Should i stop taking it or wait and see? ## Those can be serious reactions to a medication, the one that is most concerning is the increased hear rate, which can cause serious risks to your health. Since you have just started it, I would suggest not taking anymore of them, until you talk to your doctor. Have you contacted them yet? ## I take 90mg of cymbalta and lorazepam and i be feeling trouble like nausea and sometime actually thow up lose of wanting to eat food or it dosn't taste good at all....
