Can Anyone Give A Time Frame (Top voted first)

Updated

I have been prescribed some form of hydrcodone for the last 7 years, my tolerance now is so high im taking 60+ per day for the last 2 years. My life is almost ruined and i want it back. I want to try suboxone but i have heard many horror stories about taking it to soon and instantly going into full on withdrawl. I heard 24 hrs is standard but a friend said since ive been on it so long and so much that i might need to wait 3 days. Im scared but ready to make a change can anyone tell me if u know how long to wait for sure? also is it true suboxone works on pain?

Suboxone contains the active ingredients Buprenorphine and Naloxone, the Buprenorphine is a narcotic, so yes it can treat pain as well. The Naloxone is used to neutralize other opiates and prevent their abuse, while someone is under treatment with this medication.

The Naloxone is also the reason why you can start it immediately after stopping another narcotic, if you do so, it can throw you into dangerous withdrawals.

That said, there is also no precise time frame to give you for when to start it. You have to be in full withdrawals from the Hydrocodone, before you can start taking it.

Learn more Suboxone details here.

Now, did you mean that you were taking over 60 tablets a day?

If so, then you should really seek medical assistance, both for using the Suboxone, since using it without a doctor's prescription is illegal and due to the fact that the Acetaminophen may have caused liver damage.

I did seek medical advice that is who gave me the suboxone and told me to take it 24 hrs after my last dose. So what is considered to be full withdrawl? Stomach ache? Or do u have to wait for puking your guts up? That is what i need to know not information on whats legal or what medication ingredients are... Ppl get on here searching for answers ready to make changes not for posts that are discouraging and apparent.
