Now is not a good time to be finding out that Aspergum is off the market! With the incidence of Flu hitting hard and increasing Aspergum was the perfect product to get aspirin quickly absorbed into the system without upsetting the stomach. At times, it has been the ONLY pain reducer that has worked. I knew I was desperate because I am not a fan of gum at all. But we all make exceptions when we find something that works. Please PLEASE bring it back! Flu season is here with 'attitude;' we need our relief.

great product, I saw it disappearing off the shelves a few years ago, but still could find it. I have had a sore throat now for almost ten days, with aspergum it never lasted more than 2 or 3. In the past I have chewed a piece of gum mixed with a bc or goodies powder, and it provided some relief, havent tried that on this sickmess yet, It worked yoo well probably and the profit margin wasnt enough, thats usually why a good product is discontinued

I just can't believe they would stop making an awesome product! This was always a must have in my household because you take one or two and then boom...sore throat was over and it didn't get worse. Now I suffer with horrible sore throats that last for days and days and to no relief! I want ASPERGUM back! At least it was a product that did the job unlike other stuff out there that doesn't!

I agree with all the comments here. I can't believe its no longer available. It worked wonders when I had a sore throat!!! Wish it could be brought back.

I just sent my mother on a quest for Aspergum for my sore throat. I simply can't believe it's gone - I have just ONE peice left! Actually I do believe it - more and more good things are no longer manufactured (Farberware electric frying pan is at the top of my list of best-things-I-can't-find) and other products are produced in endless moronic varieties that push the basics off the shelves of even the largest megastore mazes. Shopping has become such a drag nowadays. What a country! Such fine minds making such smart decisions.

Aspergum is the only thing that got rid of my sore throat, EVER!

I have put aspirin in a plastic bag, pounded it with a hammer, and then mixed it in warm water to make a gargle. Obviously, aspirin made without a hard coating worked better for the gargle. And it also would work faster for the heart attack application now recommended by doctors. Are certain brands still being made without a coating? pills made without a coating

man this sux BIG TIME. I too have been trying to ge it for several yrs. My Longs stores quit stocking it BUT they always ordered it for me. NOW? How could they do this? Makes me sick. I am so so mad. ALL WE CAN DO IS CALL THE # which was posted here somewhere. (the company that made it) I think I will call them. I WONDER if any canadian places can get it????

I just found out this morning when I called my local Walgreens & CVS that Aspergum cannot be ordered and is in fact not being made anylonger. I am so upset about this!! I have used it since I was a child and my mother, who is 90 has always depended on it for scratchy throat. I can't believe it!! Discontinued & the only thing I know of that really works for sore throat! I dread telling my mother who is patiently waiting for me to order it! Unbelievable!

Have you guys tried an alternative product called Cepacol? It is also indicated for immediate sore throat relief. The ingredients are different from Aspergum, but perhaps it will do the same job?

Active Ingredients: (in each lozenge):
Benzocaine USP 15mg (Oral Anesthetic) + Menthol 3.6 mg (Oral Anesthetic)

Cherry, Honey Lemon, or Mixed Berry ...

I don't take many meds, but I always used aspergum for any sore throats. If it persisted I'd do more. People have to use SOME common sense and know when to see a doctor. Maybe if it had been advertised more it would have sold more.

ran a search for aspergum since I could not find it in a local store. Can not believe this fabulous--one-of-a-kind product was disontinued. Phooy!

There are other websites I found & trust me, people are furious about this being discontinued. Wait till you see the new product they have! It is HORRIBLE & I hope it fails. It's called quick release chrystals Trust me, it's disgusting and actually hurt my throat. Also for those of you who want to promote other products, please don't! Like most of us haven't tried them all? give me a break. We know what worked and what we would buy. Bring back aspergum. Even my doctor agrees!!!

I can't remember the last time I had a sinus infection, but this last month I had 3! This last one did a number on my throat...I was begging for Aspergum and couldn't find it! Please post if anyone has a hookup for Aspergum!!!

My Mom had a box of aspergum
in the cabinet that expired in 2002
had 8 pieces in it--
I had a Killer Sore throat that came
out of no where -
Chewed Aspergum--in minutes
the pain was gone --
I guess its like Everything that
Works Great --They quit making it-
My Mom also used Pacquins
Hand cream -It worked Fantastic-
Some company bought it and just
quit making it --A jar used to cost $5 at Kmart--Now if you can find
a Small jar on Ebay its $85 -

My husband crushed up an aspirin in a piece of gum, used a bit of water to dilute the aspirin. IT WORKS GREAT!

Aspergum was the ONLY thing that helped with the severe pain when I had my tonsils taken out. It did not fix the problem but most certainly masked the pain so I could recover. PLEASE bring it back!
