6 Years On Diluadid 2mg
UpdatedI take a 4 diluadid at once (2mg doses) for chronic back pain when I hurt my back at work. I get a refill every 3 months and like my doctor explained to me as long as I have the pain and only use it for that I'll be fine. I work everyday and don't stop. Like he has told me, it's worse to stop than to keep going. So like I said I take 4 at once only once a day after work and some days it just kills me to keep going but I do it till I get home. Is this ok to take that many at once?

The regular release tablets in the U.S. are approved to be taken in doses of up to 8mgs at a time, so that should be fine, as long as your doctor approves.
The U.S. FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.
Are you on any other medications?

No that is not ok at all. Much of what your feeling sounds to be Withdrawl syndrome. This medication is meant for prn dosing every 4 to 6 hours. Your levels are spiking to much at night and not enough during the day. This drug is extremely addictive. You need to be honest with your doctor and tell him you take it all at once.
