6/30/12 Searching Sarasota

Hi everyone, after 4 yrs of pain management with mainly same doc, pharm, and medications, and veru few problems filling my scripts, here I am in the same boat as all of you. I went to my normal monthly appointment 6/26 and went to my normal pharm and got all meds filled with the exception of the oxy 30's and was told to check back next month.... I have diligently checked with alot of other big chains to no avail. Now I found finally last nite after reading thru many blogs about fedxmeds went over to that site and after thoughrolly reserching signed up for their service. Today after making my rounds to all the big chain pharms that my aching body would allow me to visit, I got back on the internet and found a website that I thought everyone should know about. It is ASHP it is for pharmacist . To update them about drug shortages and all the latest news There's a bill thats been headed to the whitehouse since 6/27 S,3187 the final version just passed and is waiting to be signed anyday.hmmm wonder if thats what the pharms are waiting for, because it also says that caraco, mallinckrodt, qualitest and xanodyne cannot give a reason for any shortage according to them its been resolved. Ive already signed a pattition and am willing to do whatever else I can to help this situation. I will have to agree with someone who said after youve been on em for a while their just a glorified asprin. But they do give you some relief if your tryinh to get out of this world alive.... Still stuck no luck in sarasota

please give more info. I went to ASHP and wrote a letter to the director of public relations, but cant find info about the bill you are talking about.Hang in there, DO NOT let anybody deny you the right to a pain free life!!!!!I have vented on here till I am blue in the face, so 2 weeks ago I started writing letters to every sigle person I thouht would care. At least it helps me feel more pro-active and less like a victim even though I am hurting so bad I can barely walk now....no luck in Pinellas county. Dont bother....Ive been everywhere since June 11 2012. This is nuts! Oh, and if you feel like you are getting heart palpitations from withdrawal call 911.....maybe if we all flood the ER's somebody will DO something....K PS Walgreens needs to be boycotted!!!!

I ended up in the ER after not being able to fill my rx's. I am a cancer patient who has moved to Sarasota to be near my wife's family so she would not have to face my illness without their close support. The night I cut back 75% on my meds due to not being able to fill the rx's, I started to get chest pains. I drove to the hospital where my BP was 209/130. This is wrong. Everyone is sorry but no one seems willing or able to help. Is it possible pharmacies are afraid to fill or are striking back at the gov't by not filling and causing an uproar because of the fines last year? I keep reading there is no shortage. I do not know what or whom to believe.
