Valacyclovir with Ibuprofen

I've been searching everywhere for an answer to this, but does anybody know if it is okay to take Advil with Valacyclovir? My wife's gotten a headache (a reported side effect) and is really wanting to take a pain medication. I have read that individuals should check with their doctor before taking Valacyclovir if they are taking NSAIDs such as Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen, but I can't seem to find a definite answer if one Advil will be harmful. ## Ibuprofen is not specifically listed as a drug which interacts with Valacyclovir (meaning it is not implicitly described as dangerous to take together with it, whereas other drugs have been mentioned). This does not mean that you shouldn't double check with your doctor or pharmacist, but she should be good to take an Advil, as lo...

Can this pill be used for an infection? ## This tablet is manufactured by Teva Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 800mgs of Acyclovir. The FDA classifies this as an antiviral medication, it is most commonly used to treat or prevent herpes breakouts, either genital or oral. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. So no, it will not treat a bacterial infection. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Can it be used for an infection such as a bad inj. sore from intravenous drugs?

This tablet is manufactured by Camber Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 400mgs of Acyclovir. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, diarrhea and stomach pain. As a side note, this medication does not 'heal' or 'cure' herpes. This dosage is usually used as a maintenance dose to help prevent outbreaks or lessen their severity, when they do occur. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Can this medicine be treated for anything other than herpes ## Verwon, this j49 pill is it a bocal pill that dissolves in your mouth or can this pill be seallowed to help lessen g...

Hi I'm 31 years old woman I have been having genital sores for almost two years every time I go to the doctor he gives me this medicine, what i want to know is Does doxytet cure genital herpes or it just stabilise the infection. Or is there any other medicine i should try coz I'm starting to doubt if my doctor knows what he is doing coz it keeps on coming back and he keeps on giving me same thing i want it gone. Please help me coz i don't know what to do anymore. Thanks ## No, there is no cure for genital herpes, it can only be managed and no, an antibiotic will not help with it. You need an antiviral and the NIH lists the typical side effects of them as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, and diarrhea. However, there is nothing that will totally ge...

Cold sores on my lips

I have developed 2 cold sores. Can Amox-Clav help cure them? They are very tender to the touch and my lips are swollen. ## Hello, Laura! How are you doing? I am sorry about the cold sores, I know how horrible they can be. And no, an antibiotic will not do anything to help, since they are caused by a virus. To help prevent them, in the future, you may want to ask your doctor about trying Acyclovir, since it is approved to reduce the outbreaks. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, and diarrhea. Are you on any other medications?

What Is The Experation Date Of Acyclovir
2 Replies RSS
An friend gave me a bottle of acyclovir over two years old can it still be used for the same purpose at this time, or has it lost its affectiveness completely. With no symptons at this time I will often use this medicine unexpired of course just for its clealiness qualities in the vaginal area. ## It has probably not lost all of its effectiveness, completely, but if it is in a bottle that has been opened, such as one from a pharmacy and not a factory sealed bottle, then it does start to lose effectiveness, after a year. This is not one of the ones that gets dangerous or toxic, after its expiration, but it will probably not be as effective, as it was, when it was new. The effectiveness duration can also be affected by other factors, such as storage, because heat, moisture and light will ...

livogen z and herpes

Does Livogen z inhibit the herpes simplex virus growth? Does it help in curing herpes? I have tried various antivirals like Zovirax, but they don't cure it. ## No, this is a nutritional supplement and it will not do anything to help with herpes. And, as detailed by the NIH, there is no cure for herpes, some medications, such as the Zovirax, can help prevent outbreaks, or keep them from being too severe, but there is nothing that can prevent them all, or eradicate the virus entirely. The U.S. FDA lists the typical side effects of these medications as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and stomach pain. What has your doctor advised?

My daughter and I have problems in the winter time with fever and blisters on lips.. Can these pills help control them? ## Hello, Monkey! How are you? Have you ever had them checked out or cultured by your doctor? It sounds like you both might be experiencing cold sores, according to the symptoms described by the NIH, that is usually what causes blisters on your lips, or around your mouth area. They are due to a herpes simplex virus and no, they are not the same as genital herpes, that's a different form of the virus. They tend to occur more frequently, when your lips may be more dry and chapped. However, if that is the case, no this antibiotic will not help. But there is an antiviral medication that you can ask your doctor about prescribing that can help prevent them. It is called ...

Reviews on the generic Valtex pill is blue number on pill is SZ 393 Sandoz pharm. from people that have tried this .. ## Hello, Ann! How are you? I've never taken it myself, since I've only dealt with oral cold sores, but I haven't read many complaints about it on here, or other medical information sites. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and stomach pain. I take Acyclovir, since it's the one approved to prevent cold sores and I have taken the one from Sandoz, I found it to work fine for me. Can anyone that's taken this one chime in with their experience?
