Xarelto Fatigue

I've been on xarelto for 2 months following dvt in my leg. I take 20 mg a day. In addition to almost constant headaches I now feel faint, tired, and my pinky finger feels numb. I really do not feel well. I would like to switch to Coumadin which I took many years ago after my first dvt and pe. Any one else experience similar symptoms? ## Hello, Jojo! How are you? Second time around for DVT in my legs this yr. The first time three yrs ago, I was on Coumadin for a yr and recovered well. This time on Xarelto. I felt OK for a couple of months, but now heavy exertion is not possible because of fatigue. I am suspecting that Xarelto is messing with my blood chemistry somehow to cause fatigue. Hello, Hope someone can help. I've been hitting a wall of fatigue everyday about 1pm to the point where I need to take a 2 hour nap when my daughter is napping and its painful to wake up even after that. I take Xarelto everyday with dinner to treat a DVT. I've been on it 4 months. Is this a known side effect? I tested my theory when I started to realize this began after taking Xarelto and skipped a dose one evening. The following day I didn't need a nap and didnt have that same debilitating exhaustion. I have been on Xarelto for 4 months. I am trying to exercise but still feel so fatigued. I was very active before my DVT/PE (1/2 marathons, cycling, lifting) and just having a hard time feeling normal when exercising. Feel very out of breathe when only running 3-5 miles. My father went down hill fast after being on xarelto for 4 months, he has debilitating fatigue. he can no longer stand with out help. he has been in the hospital twice in 2 months and each time had to have a transfusion of 2 units of whole blood each time. Hi everyone.. I injured my knee (patellar dislocation + meniscal tear) during martial arts practice and developed a DVT. The DVT was diagnosed approximately 20 hours after the incident but the circulation and swelling problem had started half an hour of the incident. So, from the blood work, i do not have any predisposition that could cause blood clots. Also, I am a very active person and used to train 6 days a week. I was on clexane 100mg daily for 10 days and conducted a second doppler evaluation. The clot was occlusive and 15cm long in the first place, and it became non-occlusive dvt in 10 days of clexane. I was put on xarelto 5 days ago for a clot in my leg. They can't figure why I got it. So are testing for all sorts of things. As a mother of three I am very busy and the xarelto seems to be making me even more tired and my stomach looks like I'm 8months prego again!!!!! Why is this happening? Hi i have been on xeralto since july 2014. i have extreme fatigue, weight gain,abdominal pain, occassional woozy spells with dizziness. now i am having blurred vision with my glasses on cant see happened while driving scared me. i drove very slow till i got home and it is still happening for 2days now. i do have a headache as well and going into deep sleep. any onr have.this. I have had 2 strokes (2007 & 2014) & a DVT (2013). I am on Xarelto 20mg now for about 17 months. For the last several months I have been noticeably more fatigued, tired, weak... I have pain in my muscles & joints. Would these symptoms be less if I was on a lower dose of Xarelto, perhaps the 10mg? Xarelto has increased my weight by 9kgs. It has given me dreadful reflux chest pain and fatigue. My legs ache my nose has scabs. I feel ill every single day. I would not have taken the drug if I had been told the possible side effects, which by the way are played down by the maker Bayer and Johnson. This year I have had a PE... Then I was advised there is no antidote for this drug if you get a bleed. I have googled Xarelto and a lot of cases of fatal bleeding have been documented. And you can bet a lot that haven't. I am a 60 year old female with scleroderma, my lungs are affected and the capacity is reduced, I was diagnosed with pulmonary embolism after I had the flu , I feel I was missed diagnosed, I have had the same problem before, however I was on vacation and my specialist was not available. After two visits to the ER it was decided that I had a pulmonary embolism in both lungs? I was put on Xarelto and sent home. I'm on xeralto for over a year and a half for 2 dvts and one pulmonary embolism. I've gained some weight, 25 lbs but I am a huge eater, but more interesting I always have a very distended belly, some have mentioned this in the forum. It's not an easy choice as to any alternatives because vaginal I can get a clot and die very easily. Alternatives such as garlic, ginger, omega 3, vit e, are Clancy at best. So what is one to do? Been taking xarelto for 9months after p e in lungs noticed fatigue right away but now having migraines and recent blood test shows raised alt on the liver function test. I was prescribed xarelto 20 mg for 20 days following foot surgery, due to a history of a clot in my calf, took last pill day before yesterday and my whole body, but especially my foot is swollen and retaining fluid I am fatigued and sore. I have had RLS for as long as I can remember (33yr old female). However it only affected me once maybe twice a month and only ever at night for a few hours and was associated with physical fatigue or alcohol sessions (which were few and far between) and was controlled by taking a cold and flu nighttime tablet. Hello Everyone, My husband has been taking Xarelto for 11 days for a DVT discovered due to an unrelated nerve issue in his lower right leg. Since being on the meds he complains of being nauseous and doesn't feel like eating which is causing weight loss. He is also extremely fatigued. He feels tired, weak and has some tingling in his arms, legs.....also says that he feels "jittery" (he isn't shaking physically, but feels jittery). Hi. I used Xarelto for a few days for DVT. It caused extreme bleeding in me. I have a myoma. It was not time for my period, but I started losing blood and clots immediately. Needed to change things every 10-15 minutes. I already had bad iron deficiency anemia, so that is not a good thing. Now that this side effect stopped, I quit. I have severe fatigue and diarrhea. I read Xarelto has lactose, which I am intolerant to (thanks, doc). So that may explain something. But it does not stop. Same for the dizzy spells and vertigo and disoriented feelings in my head. 60 year old triathlete in perfect condition had severe stroke with hemiplegia. First 18 months steady recovery... feeling well, no weight gain. 6 months after stroke I'm back training 6-8 hour (bike ride, weight training and swimming) per week. Terrible drug..Shocking chest pain and awful fatigue . ## Hi Katie, Based on my research, several webpages do actually list warnings stating how Xarelto can cause serious blood clots around the spinal cord that could occur under a variety of certain circumstances (too many to list here). However, a law firm by the name of Schmidt Law has also confirmed the link between Xarelto and potentially life threatening blood clots. They appear to be actively taking cases for such claims. So if you or a loved one has experienced this issue (god forbid), something like that may be worth looking into as well. The idea of a blood thinner backfiring is pretty scary to say the least!
