Hi i am 28 years old and was diagnosed with optic neuritis which has been treated but as prescribed by my doctor I was taking 60 mg first then 50 mg nw 40 mg an then will be taking 10 mg and then I have to stop the dosage .. however I feel that my face has swollen and have got double chin as well although I was already heavy weight but I didn't c have double chin and swollen face. My head feels heavy and some times headache also noticed ... My father (50) has been diagonalized with sarcoidosis and has been treated with Wysolone since 2005.the doses have varied since inception of the treatment i.e. 50 mg to 20 mg. He also has high blood bressure and has been taking Stamlo 5 simultaneously. Kindly suggest if there is any alternate milder and effective treatment for Sarcoidosis as there have been lots of side effects of wysolone which include weight gain, skin darkening, altering moods, pressure on kidney's(there has been considerable swelling in his legs, on & off) and i havnt seen much improvement in his condition.He leads a very stressful work life. Also kindly educate me about any lifestyle changes required.

My mother is 79yrs old. She has had an Electrolyte problem for the last 2 yrs. Sodium levels are coming down. This is the 3rd year. Even in May of 2010, she began having the same problem. From May 2010 to till Dec 2010 she used Covance 50mg for BP and Wysolone 5mg. She did not have any problem. Soduim levels are 138.4 out of 145 and hemoglobin is 10.4, this result is from mid December.
