The vet gave my dog prednisone for his skin problems it has cleared up but the spring time he starts straching again. Can I give this pill to him again ## Hello, Shannon! How are you? Even in dogs, Prednisone risks causing some serious side effects, such as high blood pressure, fluid retention and heart failure, so it would be best not to give it to him, without your vets approval. What is causing the itching, is it an allergy? Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, headache and nervousness.

Was in dogs pill bottle but now she's not wanting to move, I think just resting peacefully. Want to make sure that is was hers and not something else that got put in there. She weighs 33lbs ## Hello, Cayenne! How is your little lady? Human and canine Prednisone are the same. The tablet you listed is manufactured by Qualitest Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 5mgs of Prednisone. She may experience side effects from it, just like a human does, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and headache. Is there anything else I can help with?

Prednisone for my cat. Can prednisone 5 mg for humans be substituted for the cat since medications are running low? ## Prednisone will kill cats. It's for dogs only according to my vet. The one for cats is called Prednisolone 5 mg. ## In veterinary manuals, it is warned this it should be avoided in pregnant cats, and kittens, but it can be used in adult cats, if your vet approves. There are risks associated with giving any medication to you pet, just like there are with people, but both Prednisolone and Prednisone can be used in cats and dogs. However, your vet really has the final say on that, so I would suggest asking them, just to be careful. Your cat may not need a longer course of it, or they may want to explore a different treatment option. How is your cat doing?

I have had two back surgeries. I have had the injections, I have taken Prednisone 10 mg, cyclobenzapr 10 mg. and Hydroco acetaminop 10 mg. The doctors informed me that I have 2 pinched nerves. I have difficulty in walking. The doctor asked me Can you live with it. I'm 74 years old and he asks me that question. I like to work, go fishing, go on hikes, walk the dogs, play ball with the grand kids. 5 mg Hydro twice a day is like taking sugar coated candy. I started taking 3 a day. No help here. I'm at the cross walk. Now what do I do. ## Hello, Bear! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain. There is a higher dosage of this medication available that contains 10mgs of the Hydrocodone. You may want to speak to your doctor about trying it. The FDA classifies this medication ...

The pills are from the vet for one of my dogs but the label has worn off completely. Pills are small, flat and are scored on one side only. Theres's a very slight wit wish speckle just visible in them and they have a 'powdery' exterior (not enteric or coated etc). No other marking or imprint. I vaguely remember something about them being a cortisone type thing - maybe prednisone... I think I've had veterinary prednisone under the brand name 'Solone' before which looked like this but honestly can't recall (I do rescue dogs so see a LOT of vets and vet meds). I can't find Solone images which match online either. *cant ask the vet who dispensed as the label is completely obliterated
