I was non symptamatic before taking pantoprazole. Now I have nausea, sleep problems and overall having stomach issues I did not have. Gastro doc prescribed after upper GI as a preventive measure. Ready to stop all together. ## Same problem here, once I take a Pantoprazole in the morning I cannot sleep the next night. Never had problems sleeping before. Will call the doctor and ask if something else is available. ## It can cause these types of issues, as side effects, in some people, so you both should contact your doctors and discuss trying something else. I also had problems with PPIs and had to stop using them. The medication that finally worked well for me was Pepcid, which contains the active ingredient Famotidine and is available both over the counter and by prescription. Are there...

I recieved a prescription for Pantoprazole Sodium DR 40mg. But my pill looks completely different from what I've had in the past and is different from the descriptions I can find on what it should look like. I have a white, oval tablet with "97" imprinted on one side. The imprints vary between red or black in the same bottle. What do I have in my hands? Any help is appreciated. ## How did you look for it, did you just do a search for what Pantroprazole should look like, or did you search for that imprint? The imprint is what enables a pill to be identified. If you just search for examples of what it should look like, you'll not likely have much luck, since this is a generic medication and most sites don't list all possible options. It is the correct medication, this ...

Been on Protonix/Pantoprazole for a few years. Pill appearance often changes from oblong tan color, round tan color and now white oblong. What is up with that? Any change to effectiveness, complications? ## Well, I can't really tell you anything about them, without knowing the specific markings on them, however, what is most likely happening is that they are just manufactured by different companies. Most pharmacies will order from whatever company is offering the cheapest price, when they need to restock. This is how they keep their prices as low as possible for uninsured customers. The medication remains the same, it's just the appearance that's different. Have you tried asking your pharmacist? ## Pharmacy person stated that although the color was different because they pur...

Make it go away. The rash on my hands is beyond belief since I was prescribed Pantoprazole. I am using fresh aloe and it only provides temporary relief. I just want the rash to go away. I have a weak auto-immune system and it looks like I cannot fight this one off. ## Hello, Marsha! How are you? It isn't normal for a rash from a systemic medication to be isolated to just a certain area of the body, such as your hands. Have you been exposed to anything else new? IS the rash itchy or just a red noticeable rash? Have you consulted your doctor? Are you on any other medications?

Do you get memory problems eg cant remember what day it is,when did i do that?all short term, time goes so quick ## Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that is used to help reduce the amount of acid produced by the stomach to treat or prevent conditions such as heartburn, GERD, gastritis and ulcers. And no, it isn't known to cause that as a side effect, however, it is difficult to say what effect a medication is going to have on any particular person. Have you consulted your doctor? It's very important that you do so, in order to discover whether this is caused by the medication or something else.

I can not take pantoprazole now but have all day issues w/ my stomach. Is there anything I can do or take to help? ## Hi maggie, Sorry to hear about your situation. From what I could gather, pantoprazole is used to treat symptoms of GERD & excess stomach acid. What works for others may or may not work as well for you, however, I've had success with raw manuka honey and apple cider vinegar for eliminating excess acid and heartburn. My father also battles with esophagitis from time to time and has had very positive feedback with that regiment. Baking soda is extremely alkaline and in my experience may also be a nice addition to that arsenal of treatment. Other than that, drinking alkaline water daily (with a PH of 8-9.5), juicing raw veggies (such as a leafy greens, cucumbers, cel...

I ran out of my prescription for pantoprazole last night and couldn't refill today. Now I have to wait till monday. I'm taking 40mg twice daily. Should I be concerned to wait that long? ## How long have you been taking it? This medication is generally meant to only be used for a short period of time to reduce the amount of acid produced by stomach to treat, or prevent conditions, such as ulcers, GERD, gastritis, and heartburn, according to FDA reports. It is also available over the counter, so you can pick up a small supply at most local stores to help you, until you can obtain the prescribed refill.

i want lafutidine with combination of another drug ## Where are you located? Have you tried consulting a doctor? I'm not sure what all is available to you. Lafutidine is used as an antacid to reduce the amount if acid in the stomach and Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that helps ensure that the stomach produces less acid. Therefore, they usually aren't combined, because you do need your stomach to produce some acid in order to properly digest your food. Learn more:

Does this drug cause depression? ## Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that is used to reduce the amount of acid produced by the stomach, to treat or prevent conditions, such as heartburn, GERD, ulcers and Gastritis. can pantoprazole cause dizznessand effect the heart rate so it runs low.? Is there any mediciations that will conflict with thiis medicine? ## Generally dizziness is something you can just assume as a side effect of most medications, there are few exceptions that aren't known to cause it. And as to the low heart rate, if you're taking this and experiencing that, then you need to contact your doctor immediately. It may mean that your magnesium has dropped to a dangerously low level, which can sometimes occur due to these PPI medications. Learn more Pantoprazole details here. As to medication interactions, I couldn't possibly list them all. However, if you post back with the specific ones that you take regularly, I'll gladly check for you. I was prescribed by a doctor to tale proton 40. However i did not understand first the instruction of the pharmacist, all i was able to understan was to tale it BEFORE FOOD. And so i did it last night before eating, but now that I read the leaflet, it shows that i should be drinking it 1 hour before breakfast, i already have breakfast, is it still ok to take it? Because it says here that if your forgot to take proton 40, do not tale it late but continue it with the next regular dose on your dosing schedule. Does that mean i should just take it tomorrow before eating? Because if i do that, it will turn out that i interrupt the treatment, although i just started taking it up last night (which was a bad move)-.. ## Hello, J! How are you?
