What Is Opana 20mg

May of the year, I started the Opana ER 20mg and for me this has been wonderful. I was only able to afford oxycodone prior to the start of insurance in May. Been fighting a crazy battle with the oxycodone pain relief, cause the pharmacy keeps pushing KVK Tech product that doesn't work for me and has side effects. With Opana ER 20mg as my primary pain relief and Oxycodone 10mg for breakthrough pain, I am finally adjusting where I can function, which It has been a long time. Several years ago when I first started with oxycodone 30mg, life was good because I could function and then my local pharmacies started slipping the KVK products in on me and life became awful. My 7 doctors agreed that I would have to be on pain meds the rest of my life after a auto accident in 1981, after more than 50 surgeries I was put on disability until I found a old doctor who help put back to the point I had a union of both bones mid shaft of Tibia & Fibula, plus 7 crushed disk, right rotator cuff that pops out & many other injuries. Can ms contin 100mg be taken with opana er 20mg? ## Well MS Contin contains the active ingredient Morphine. Opana ER contains Oxymorphone. The Oxymorphine is much more powerful and only requires a fraction of the dose that was being taken of the Morphine. Both are time released. They also share the same side effect profiles: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. are the green Opana 20 time relesed if so how long does it take to kick in ## The green opana 20mg that are manufactured by Endo Pharmaceuticals Inc. are extended released tablets. The length of time it takes to "kick in" can vary for each individual and is also based on whether or not you take it with a meal. Having it with fatty food may prolong the absorption time due to a slower metabolism. I would think that you should be able to notice it when the drug kicks in, do you not? I don't have any personal experience with taking opana, so I can only assume that you feel the narcotic effects when it is absorbed. I hope this helps!

i have been on 10mg Opana Er twice a day for about 2 months. then my dr upped it to 2 10mg opana twice a day. i did fine on both. now i take 1 20mg Opana er and im itching! is there a chemical difference between 2 10mg and 1 20mg? has anyone else had this happen? please help!! ## Hello, LoralP! You said your doctor upped it to 2 10mg twice a day, which would be 40mgs and, if that is the case, and you were then taken down to just 20mg once a day, the itching could be due to some withdrawals. ## No, I've never had any, but I've read a lot of people have experienced it for Months.!

I have recently began with a new PM dr that is fabulous. He basically lets me determine the best combo of pain meds for my back and hip issues that are too numerous to list, however, the severity requires anterior/posterior surgery which I'm trying to avoid at all costs. He originally gave me both ms contin and opana to try to determine which works best for me. The ms contin killed the pain but also killed the brain if u know what I mean. The opana worked good but it only has a bioavailability of roughly 10% which makes me feel as tho I'm wasting my time. I'm also taking percocet 10's for breakthru that honestly seems to blow the opana out of the water as far as effectiveness. So my question is who thinks if I switch to the ms 30mg er with perc 10's for the breakthru...

I was taking OxyContin for pain management for Cercvical Stenosis. I have had four neck surgeries in the past six years. The Opana doesn't seem to work as well as the OxyContin. Why?? The Dr said that this medication is twice as strong. It is not working. Now what do I do? I was thinking of doubling up on the Opana. But I am concerned about the side effects. I have spent so much time trying to get my Opana 20mg er and 10 mg ir filled. I had to start sending my scripts to Optum Rx by mail to have them filled. Honestly I've never seen anything like it. I didn't even have this much trouble getting Oxycotin and Oxycodone filled. My insurance co didn't want to pay for my oxycodone anymore so they suggested I change to Opana. The first couple of months it was ok but then I don't know what happened but when I said I couldn't get them filled anywhere I meant it. what does an opana 60 mg look like? ## There is not a 60mg Opana available on the U.S. market. Opana is a very potent narcotic that contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone and it is only available in a maximum of 10mgs. Was it perhaps a different medication that you were thinking of? There are tablets of both Morphine and Oxycodone that are available in 60mg dosages. ## Opana is not available in a 60mg. pill. I need a list of pharmacies in kpt,tn that carries generic opana er in 10mg and 15mg ## I used to be able to obtain Percocet 10/325 now my local drug stores carry Oxycodone which they say is exactly the same formula as the Percocet. I know the drug stores pay less for this substitute but the pills do not seem to work the same for my back pain. Wanted to share with everyone how happy I am to have finally received the new generic Opana ER 20mg tablets from my pharmacy. I had found Opana to be very effective for my chronic pain and was very sad when they switched it over to the new formula as it wasn't nearly effective as the original octagon shaped tablets and caused stomach aches. These new generic ones seem to me to be as effective as the original formula had been. The tablets I received show to be made by Global Pharmaceuticals and are a small, round, green tablet with G73 imprinted on them. I'm happy to report that these are just like the original formula. I take Opana 20mg three times a day for chronic pain, along with Roxicodone 15mg 4X's a day. I was wondering if anyone out there had noticed that the Opana's don't do anything as much as the Roxis/Oxycodone do? I also just use them as perscribed and am only in my 20's and have had over 35 surgeries. I go see my pain management physician in a couple of days and want to know if anyone out there has tried something similar to what I'm not and what they might have been switched to to get better relief of pain. Its a round green pill with a capital E on one side and 20 on the other ## Although I wasn't able to locate a photo of this pill, I did find details confirming that this round green pill is in fact an Opana ER 20mg tablet. i have been on both oxycotin 80mg and opana 40mg, i started off on opana and when they were changeing the ingred. i had to go on oxycotin 80 mg, i will always say opana 40 are alot stronger than oxycotin 80s i get alot more pain relief on opanas, i read all the time its 10mgs of opana to 30mgs of oxycotin i believe it.... ## Hello, Delta! I was in a severe accident in 2006 that caused many spinal fractures, herniated disks, and severe damage to my right knee. I've been seeing a pain management doctor who has prescribed me Opana 40 & 20mg. ER's to be taken every 12 hours. He also prescribes me Mobic for joint pain. The Opana does help with my spinal injuries, but doesn't seem to help my knee pain at all. The Mobic isn't working either. Should the Opana be helping me with my knee pain at all? I have been prescribed just about all of the available opiate medications including; oxycontin, methadone, the Duragesic fentynil patch, morphine, and nothing seems to be working. I've been taking Opana ER 20mg and Opana IR 10mg for 6 years now. It has been the best in managing my chronic pain. As if having to deal with that pain weren't enough, I now have to worry that the one medication that allows me some peace. Now it won't be available when I need my refill on May 15th. I am terrified of having to deal with my pain without any help and of the world of other problems I will have because of sudden stoppage of my meds. No one seems to have an alternative to offer. Opana costs too much for the same thing that Oxymorphone does. Opana is about $500+/-, while Oxymorphone is $47. ## opana and oxymorphone are the same thing, and you can get high off it. They are avaliable in 10's ir and 20's & 50's in er. ## Opana works for me. I just picked up 130 pills for $1,000 and some change.
