My husband was put on bupropion hydrochloride 100mg in september 2016. Within 3 weeks that dosage was upped to 150 mg, twice a day (300mg total). Within one week on 450 mgs, his fingers in right hand are all numb! All fingers but thumb. He is right handed and cannot pick up anything. Very difficult to hold a fork - to shave - or to do anything! I am currently backing him off of bupropion and praying to god we can get back the feeling in his right hand! Unless your body is seriously pharmaceutical chemical deficient, I would most definitely try to get well without the use of chemicals. They, prescribed chemicals, have wrecked his life as wel...

I have a family history of drug abusers and don't want to follow in their steps so I would appriciate it if someone could answer this clearly as possible for me. Thank you for your time. ## Hi Ghost - to answer your question, no, Bupropion Hydrobromide is not a narcotic. It is an antidepressant (in a different class of drugs). The term "Hydro" in this case is from chemistry and refers to a chemical compound of this medication. Wikipedia states "In chemistry, a hydrobromide is an acid salt resulting, or regarded as resulting, from the reaction of hydrobromic acid with an organic base (e.g. an amine).
