I have blue capsules that say adderall xr 30 mg on them but they have only white beads. Is this generic or brand? And how are these different from the orange 30 mg adderall xr with the white and orange beads? ## @Ricky, When you switch between different manufacturers, the only noticeable thing I'm aware of that actually changes are the inactive ingredients (binders/fillers), so that could be one reason why the beads are different colors - different dyes? As to whether or not it's a generic or brand that you have, my research shows that the orange 30mg pill marked with "Adderall XR" is indeed a brand name and not generic. I have been taking adderall 30mg for two years now and it really helps me. but my last script I got filled was a blue capsule and is a generic brand..Dextroamp. this is awful. I refuse to take these pills. but due to my ins I can not get them changed..I know it depends on what mfg your pharmacist goes with. but my point is how can they even sell these things to drug stores anyways.. my doctor also told me they get lots of complaints on these pills and that they are gonna check further into the mfg of these things.. ## Hello, Debora! Are these suppose to have the beads inside them or is it powder form? Theyre orange 30mg capsuls with R-3061 on them. Took one and immediately fell asleep? ## There doesn't appear to be any photos of this pill online, however, I did come across posts from others stating that this particular capsule imprinted with "R 3061" does in fact have beads. I do find it odd how it put you sleep, considering that one of the side effects of this drug is insomnia. I have had extensive testing through a Licensed Psychiatric Group of Doctors. This testing proved that I had been suffering with ADD all my life. This testing was done 15-20 yrs ago. A friend of mine went to Walgreens this month and got Mallinckrodt generic 30mg XR's. The imprint is M 8956. They look like that garbage CVS generic with a clear bottom. I have to fill my script tomorrow and I plan on asking what they have before I fill it. I have been taking Adderall XR for about 7 years for narcolepsy. I have always taken 10 mg each morning; and recently my doctor increased my perscription to 5-15 mg per day, so that I was given 5 mg. capsules and had the option of taking an extra 5 mg each day. I find everyday I am tried by lunch and have a hard time staying awake, so I take that extra 5 mg. capsule around 1:00 in the afternoon. But sometimes by taking that extra 5 mg I get a really bad headache, and to be honest I still am tired. Would it be better to take the full 15 mg in the morning? I just have never taken that much at once and was afraid to try it.
