How long does it take for this Mopic to work? My doctor prescribed Mopic 15 mg once per day for arthritis So far, I only took second pill today. I had pain in my knee cap and my hands. Hello, I am a new meloxicam user - pinched torn meniscus and knee arthritis. I felt pain relief the first day I took it - yippee. Knee replacement has been suggested but since I feel a huge improvement on the med (no to little pain, no limp, can bend without pain) thinking I can postpone surgery. I guess on some labels pharmacies feel the need to include the name/abbreviation of the company who makes it, as a secondary means of reference.. Especially since so many people are now coming to terms with the fact that certain manufacturers produce better quality meds than others. I hope this info helps!

I have heard that prolonged used of Meloxicam 7.5 can cause liver problems...is this so? and how long is prolonged use?? I take 7.5 mg. my hands still hurt and are swollen. 2nd day to take them. I scraped glue off a floor for several days and night and my hands and fingers are so swollen and very painful . ## Merry Christmas Joyce, Sorry to hear about the pain in your hands and fingers. Scraping glue off a floor for several days/nights sounds like it would do that to just about anyone though. But I hope you're able to find some level of relief from taking the meloxicam. Based on your description, my guess is that it may be a while before the swelling subsides. However it seems like you're using the right preventative measures w/ a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug to keep it from getting any worse. ## I am having problems when I started taking this drug,now that i am off it it has left severe back problem in which i need help out of bed every morning. ## The problem could actually be caused by your stopping the drug abruptly. Since it reduces inflammation, it might have been reducing it in an area of your spine where you have damage or swelling and then by stopping it, your body is unprepared to regulate that condition on its on, kind of a withdrawal effect, and the pain and inflammation has gotten worse. I would recommend speaking to your doctor so they can check out the problem and see exactly what is causing it.

I was given 15mg of Meloxicam for a badly sprained wrist, form a fall. My pill says 159 on one side and CIPLA on the other side. It's pale yellow. On the RX bottle it says 15mg. What does this mean. I take 0.5mg of Clonazepam for anxiety. Is it safe to take Meloxicam as well? This doesn't necessarily mean that no interactions exist, so it's probably best to discuss any concerns with your doctor first. However, I don't see why your doctor would prescribe two meds that contradict one another in such a way.
