what brand oxycode 10 mg is most bioavailable? have been on KVK brand for severe arthritis and post joint replacement surgery. Pharmacy just switchted to pink pills with 12 on one side and np on other side. These pills do not provide nearly the same level of pain relief. I previously used KVK brand for breakthrough pain. What's the drug that's in Roxycodone30mg ## Hi jack, To answer your question, Roxicodone is simply a different brand name for Oxycodone. This in and of itself is the only active ingredient. As far as inactive ingredients go (such as binders & fillers), this is going to vary slightly from brand to brand, due to the different manufacturers and distributors of these medications. Did you have a specific pill that needs to be identified for it's inactive ingredients? If so, please post back with a pill description (including an imprint, color, shape, etc). Is there a list of name brands of Oxycodone 30mg that are rated by consumers from the best to worst? Meaning the meds that worked the best for most patients. ## The only name brand roxicodone has 54 199 imprinted on them and you can tell a huge difference. ## If such a list did exist, my guess is that it wouldn't be accurate enough to be useful, as we all react/respond differently to not only the active ingredient (based on tolerance, side effects, etc), but also the inactive ingredients that affect bioavailability and cause side effects as well. Some patients may even be hypersensitive to certain binders & fillers. That said, trial and error is really the only viable way to know for sure what works for you and what doesn't. If you do come across a manufacturer that does wor...

I am prescribed oxycodone 30mg CR q 12hrs. The pill is a little dark brown in color. Is it pure oxycodone? ## Almost all tablets contain inactive ingredients as binders and fillers, including Oxycontin. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. What are the markings on the tablet in question? That information would enable me to research more information for you.

what is the difference between the a 215 and the a51 30 milligram ## Hi Michael, The A 215 Oxycodone 30mg tablet is made by Actavis, and contains the following set of inactive ingredients: corn starch + FD & C Blue No. 2 + FD & C Blue No. 2 Aluminium Lake + lactose monohydrate + microcrystalline cellulose + silicon dioxide + stearic acid + glycolate The A 51 Oxycodone 30mg tablet is made by Amneal, and contains the following set of inactive ingredients: corn starch + lactose monohydrate + microcrystalline cellulose + sodium starch glycolate + stearic acid + D & C Yellow No. 10 + FD & C Blue No. 2. As you can see here, there aren't any major differences other than a few subtle changes in the list of binders/fillers. However, to my understanding, even a slight differen...

I am prescribed 5 mug of oxycodone. On the bottle is shows round white 48/10 but the pill inside is round white, bigger and just has the # 223. It doesn't seem to work on my pain is this a different type of Oxy? ## Both should be 5 mg oxycodone. Both generic and both manufacture by a different company. ## @Corinne, I do think it's strange that a pharmacy would give you two different manufacturer's products in the same bottle as another. However, despite being the same medication, they are still composed of different binders and fillers which directly affect bioavailability and overall drug efficacy. So one may still work better or worse just because of "alleged" inactive ingredients, which in my opinion aren't necessarily inactive at all if they affect absorption...

What is the difference between roxicodone and oxycodone ? ## From what I understand, Roxicodone and Oxycodone are both the exact same medication. The only difference you might find would probably be in the list of inactive ingredients (binders/fillers) that different manufacturers use in their tablets. I think the real confusion sets in when people start discussing Percocet (which is sometimes partially labeled as Oxycodone). However, it also contains Acetaminophen; the differentiating factor between those two meds. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Oxycodone Details I hope this info helps to answer your question! ## Will oxycodone and roxicet be metabolized the same in the body?....thats all i NEED to know

I JUST UPGRADED FROM 5MG OF OXYCODONE TO 10MG OF OXYCODONE (BRAND AUROBINDO). I CUT THE PILL IN HALF TO START SLOW. I DID NOT FEEL PAIN RELIEF BUT IT REALLY MADE ME SICK. I TOOK A THIRD 8 HOURS LATER AND GOT HIGH. I FEEL THAT THIS IS AN UNEVEN PRODUCT. WHAT ARE THE BINDERS IN THIS 10MG AUROBINDO OXYCODONE? IS IT REALLY 10 MG CONTENT? ## REPLYING TO MYSELF, I MEANT 1/3 OF A U17 AUROBINDO OXYCODONE 10MG. ## Hello, Paula! How are you? Aurobindo lists this tablet as containing 10mgs of Oxycodone, and 325mgs of Acetaminophen, it is a generic for Percocet. The Acetaminophen augments the action of the Oxycodone in some people, so that might explain the problem you had with side effects. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such...

Looking to get information on comparison of the blue oxycodone to the white round ones with 114 impinted on them... ## i just got them im curious myself ## There are a few different blue Oxycodone tablets on the market, so I can't really single out one over another as far as comparing them goes, unless you are able to provide me with an imprint for the blue tablet as well. If the blue pill that you are referring to is the same dosage as the white pill and they are simply manufactured by different companies, then it is clear to me that the only true difference between the pills is possibly the binders or fillers in each tablet (also known as inactive ingredients). Certain "inactive" ingredients that may or may not be present in each brand, are actually detrimental to how the ...

I've recently fractured my hip and am taking 5mg Oxycodone, but don't really feel the affect of it and want to know if I chew it will the affect be stronger. ## No, the effects will be the same. You can't get more than 5mg out of 5mg. You should see your doctor if it isn't helping. The goal is to minimize your pain not to "feel it." Hope you do well. ## When a medication as strong as Oxycodone can't be felt, then you have to figure that something strange is going on with the tablet itself. Although I agree with post #1 in that 5mg is 5mg, no matter which way you look at it. The problem that many patients are reporting from ineffectiveness is in my opinion likely due to the added binders/fillers that make up the tablet's composition (these constantly change...

David was mentioning the binders/fillers that are used in the oxycodone. I believe that the binders/fillers are why I am having such a problem with any oxycodone manufactured by KVK Tech. I have gotten bladder infections (no history of this problem), head aches, no pain relief (Major issue, cause what is a pain pill for?), attitude issues that are unreal. I was taking oxycodone 30mg, then the 20mgs, and now I am on oxycodone 10mg for break through pain. I have had problems with all 3 of the oxycodone whenever they are KVK Tech. Changed pharmacies repeatedly and have listed KVK Tech products as "I am allergic". This past week when I picked up my oxycodone 10mg, guess what, this independent pharmacy had nothing but the KVK Tech. ## Hi Susie, How's everything going? I believe w...

This medication is weak compared Actavis oxycodone ## Hi Jay, How would you rank the mallinckrodt vs actavis on a scale on 1-10? I know a lot of patients who've been used to taking certain brands have also complained about actavis as well, but in my experience I'm finding the that primary differences people have are based on a variety of individual factors; such as tolerance, age, weight, metabolism, etc. Not only that but because both manufacturers use a different set of "inactive" ingredients (binders/fillers), this could also influence how much of the oxycodone is actually being metabolized and used by your body at any given time. These are the fillers used in mallinckrodt's (M 30) oxycodone 30mg tablet: microcrystalline cellulose + lactose monohydrate + stearic a...

These pills suck! They are nothing like the old ones ## Hi LadyM, Sorry to hear about your experience with those Oxycodone pills. From what I understand, because each pill is manufactured by a different company, not only is there going to be a slight variation of inactive ingredients (binders/fillers), but also if the medication is in generic form, it is permitted by the FDA to contain as much as 20% more or less of the actual active ingredient as well. For some people, these subtle differences are the equivalent of taking a completely different medication that may be absorbed and metabolized differently within your body (usually resulting in an increased or decreased potency). I hope this helps clear things up for anyone else trying to understand what might be going on with their medic...

Has anyone gotten severe abdominal pain from taking these pills? I've been on oxycodone for years and never had pain from taking it. My pharmacy switched brands and now everytime I've taken it I've had severe pain in my right, mid to upper quadrant. I've tried eating. I've tried more water. I'm at a loss considering I have 27more days to go till a new script and I'd have to find a new pharmacy. ## Hi Devin, Sorry to hear about your situation. "Stomach pain" is actually listed as a side effect of Oxycodone at: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMHT0011542 NIH.gov goes on to note that you should contact your doctor right away if you experience such symptoms. My theory is that it probably has something to do with the different set of binders/fillers in this ...

YES!,I WANTED TO KNOW,THE PILLS R SMALLER THEN THEOXYCODONE/APAP5-325MG,THAT I USUALLY TAKE,IS THAT MEAN THAT IT WONT BE STRONG ENOUGH TO TAKE CARE OF MY PAIN SINCE ITS SMALL? ## The difference between them is that this one doesn't contain the added the Acetaminophen, which helps the Oxycodone work better, the one marked K18 only contains 5mgs of Oxycodone. It may help with your pain, but without the Acetaminophen it may not work as well for you, the only way to find out is to try it. And the size of pill really has nothing to do with what's in it or how well it will work. Manufacturers use many fillers and binders in their pills, so some are much larger than they have be, without containing any more active ingredients. Oxycodone may cause side effects, such as: nausea, drowsine...

I want to know what is the difference between the yellow oxycodone 10mg with a p and 230 on it. And the pink oxycodone with np and 12 on it? What's the difference between those two pills?? ## Both pills contain 10mgs of Oxycodone... However the yellow one also contains 325mgs of Acetaminophen (aka Tylenol). Additionally, there are also differences in the lists of inactive ingredients (binders/fillers) that make up each tablet's composition. The yellow tablet contains: corn starch povidone k30 lactose monohydrate crospovidone stearic acid D & C Yellow No. 10 The pink tablet contains: magnesium stearate microcrystalline cellulose silicon dioxide stearic acid D & C Red No. 27 D & C Red No. 30 aluminum hydroxide I hope this info helps!

I just got mine today and they are not worth a sh... I very disappointed in these new laws that is affecting the people . Wastson or dan or DuPont . I thought was the brand but they don't carry them here. Guess I have to mail oder them . watson is the only way. I just dont understand why the government has to change things. Tussnexx . Keeps changing patent so they can keep it write o well . I be huntting really brand Percocet next month ## Hi James, Because they are different manufacturers, Amneal more than likely contains a different set of "inactive" ingredients than Actavis (formally known as Watson). From my own research, I'm led to believe that these binders/fillers are the root cause behind some pills not working as effectively as their "identical" counterp...

How much actual oxycodone is in the 30 mg oxycodone pills with the imprint 224 on them ## Honestly the only way to know for sure would be to have the pill analyzed by a lab for a run down on those specific details. However I do know that some generics tend to contain a larger percentage of "inactive" ingredients (known as binders/fillers) that seem to have a detrimental effect on the bioavailability of certain drugs. I've heard that they can actually bind to the active ingredient in a such a way that hinders its ability to be fully absorbed by your body. You can see a list of binders/fillers contained in the 224 oxycodone pill shown below (although it may be hard to pinpoint which ones are causing problems): lactose anhydrous, silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, microcrysta...
